Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge reintroduced her daughter Sophia Barney on the premiere episode of Season 18. The two had a fun little mother-daughter tattoo outing. Sophia was last seen during Season 5, but left as her father, Simon Barney, didn’t want her on TV. But now Sophia is eighteen and can rejoin her mother. However, don’t get too comfortable watching Sophia on RHOC. She will be busy with college soon and has shared her plans for what’s coming up next.
Sophia Barney is staying local for community college but might go to NYC to finish school
They say “like mother, like daughter,” and that is partially true for Sophia. She inherited her mother’s badass qualities. Tamra made her grand entrance back onto the show riding a motorcycle, while Sophia got a tattoo for hers. However, Tamra admitted Sophia was nicer than her. She quipped, “She’s such a good kid. I don’t know where the hell it came from.”
While we get to enjoy Sophia and Tamra for now, it won’t last long because she will be off to college. Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported that Sophia will be keeping it local at first. Sophia said, “I’m going to a community college near where we live for two years.” Afterward, there might be an even bigger change.
Tamra is encouraging her to go to school in NYC. She said, “I was just talking to her because she really likes New York. She’s like, ‘God, everybody is so fun.’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe you should go to school here after you do your general ed. So I would like to see that.” That take is refreshing. Most parents don’t want their kids to ever leave the state.
However, Sophia isn’t quite sure she wants to make such a big jump. She told her mother, “Maybe.” Until then, we’ll get to watch Sophia and Tamra whoop it up on TV. Sophia shared, “It was fun. I haven’t filmed since I was four years old, so I don’t really remember it very much, but it was a new experience.” Tamra added that, so far, Sophia has been a hit with viewers. She said, “Right now, she’s the cool chick that people want to hang out with.” Indeed.
