Netflix’s most popular reality TV series, Love Is Blind, debuted in the UK and was one of the best yet. It reminded audiences of the show’s early days when people felt like they were looking for love rather than fame. In the finale, six engaged couples walked down the aisle. Three couples said yes and three said no. The Love Is Blind UK Reunion was filled with plenty of drama. Here are all of the important highlights below.
Bobby and Jasmine, Steven and Sabrina, and Nicole and Benaiah were the couples who said ‘I do’ at the altar. However, there was some optimism among the couples who didn’t say I do. Demi said, ‘I do not, right now.’ Thus opening the door for her and Ollie. Catherine and Freddie seemed to have left the door open, but Tom and Maria seemed done.
Love Is Blind UK: What couples are broken up?
At first, Steven and Sabrina are the only couple of the three who got married and weren’t sitting together. How can the season’s favorite couple, the best duo since Brett and Tiffany, be sitting what seemed miles apart? Well, Sabrina informed us that the man Steven had promised to be was not that guy. She didn’t feel supported in her new job. She also flew seven times to London to visit, while he visited Belfast only twice.
Steven blamed the long distance and lack of communication for the failed relationship. He also said that much of what Sabrina was saying were lies and that “he didn’t recognize the person I thought I married.” Things started to get heated when hosts Emma and Matt shut it down, moving on to the next couple.
Queen Demi, who stood up for herself at the altar, made it known that she found herself and is sitting there as Demi 2.0. She explained that she enjoyed her experience on the show with Ollie, and he is a good guy, but not her guy. Tom and Maria sat together, but there were weird vibes on the couch. Maria was less than pleased with his words on their wedding day, while Tom admitted to his choice of words not being good. It’s not shocking these two aren’t together.
Ladies, Freddie is single and ready to mingle, as it was announced that he and Catherine are no longer together. These two had one of the more subtle conversations, and they did not have many bad things to say about one another. Freddie’s sister stood on her business, saying she didn’t regret what she had said to Freddie the day of the wedding, and Catherine agreed that it was the right choice.
Love Is Blind UK: What couples are still together?
I am happy to report that some couples have remained married since the show was filmed. Jasmine and Bobby are as happy as ever, having moved into their dream home together. We got one heck of a cute montage of the couple’s first year together. Jasmine’s mom, Marisa, was in the audience and said that Bobby has her support 110%. As for the future of the two? Bobby teased kids may be in the near future, saying, ‘We’re planning on having kids, something we are actually working on as we speak.’
Who doesn’t love a good comeback story? Benaiah and Nicole announced that they were still happily married. Like Jasmine and Bobby, we got a cute montage of what they’ve been up to in their first year of marriage, including lots of traveling. There was no shortage of drama, though, as Sam hit the stage, saying that the last few weeks had been hard for him but made him tougher. As he beat around the bush on questions from hosts Emma and Matt, Demi said, “Just apologize to her,” which got an ovation from the audience. Finally, he apologized, and we moved on.
What else went down during the reunion?
Of course, with other members of the pod squad in attendance, we got a few questions about them. Natasha was in the audience and paired with Tom in the pods. She clarified her comments at the mixer about being in love with Tom, which she stated was how she felt in the pods and not at the mixer. While the two shared a spark in the pods, they haven’t tried to re-kindle in the real world.
One thing that has been addressed in the pods, is that Catherine has found herself a man and that someone is Jake from the pods. Jake had gotten engaged on the show but wasn’t featured. After the show wrapped up, Catherine got in touch with him and hit it off about the experiment, and now the duo have since moved in together.
Matt and Emma Willis knocked it out of the ballpark in this reunion. Not only did they ask hard-hitting questions, but they also seemed to care about the couples and their journeys. Emma announced she was shook when she saw the seating chart and that Steven and Sabrina wouldn’t be sitting together. I am happy we are getting a season 2.
