Three days ago, Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia (aka Nikki Bella) were celebrating their second wedding anniversary. Today, the Dancing with the Stars pro is sitting in a jail cell, facing a charge of corporal injury to a spouse. It’s an unfortunate turn of events for a couple that first met on DWTS, and we’re sharing all of the details about what happened.

Details of Artem’s arrest have slowly been unfolding throughout the afternoon. People has been staying on top of all of it after being in touch with the Napa County Sheriff’s Department.
According to their report, the arrest happened in Napa, California when police responded to a domestic violence call. Less than an hour later, he was booked on the felony charge and thrown into the Napa County jail with a bail set for $25,000.
The duo first met on DWTS when they partnered in Season 25. At the time, Nikki was with John Cena. Once that relationship ended, she found her way back to Artem and the rest is history.
It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not Nikki was involved in the incident that led to Artem’s arrest. However, the extent of the charges suggests that she was involved. Plus, their social media posts seemed to imply that they were both in Napa at the time of the incident.
Two days before the incident, Nikki shared a sweet anniversary message to Artem. In the tribute, she shared snaps of their romance along with lyrics to the Elvis song, “Can’t Stop Falling in Love.”
“This song is our love story. I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God,” Nikki wrote in the caption.
She continued, “How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be.”
Reps for Artem and Nikki have not commented on the arrest. We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates as the story develops.
