Brittany Cartwright officially told her estranged husband Jax Taylor to “rawt in heyll” on August 27. She served him with divorce papers while he was on set filming Season 2 of their show The Valley. I hope they caught it on camera.
Sources connected to the show reported that both Jax and Britt were on set that day, though not filming together. Apparently, a process server brought the documents to Jax’s Studio City bar and handed them to the owner personally.
Brittany is over Jax and ready to move on. She made the decision to take the next step, despite previously saying she would never file for divorce.
All will be revealed in Season 2
Though eyewitness accounts have yet to surface, sources told TMZ that Jax isn’t happy about Brittany being portrayed as the heroine of their story. He thinks Britt has her own issues, and their breakup is not totally his fault. Of course, he does.
Whether or not Jax is the villain, producers promise that all will be revealed when The Valley Season 2 returns. They’re also warning us that it will be a “heavy one. Sadly, Season 2 isn’t expected to roll out until Spring 2025.
We all saw Jax browbeating his then-wife in Season 1. When Brittany felt unwell while the group was at Big Bear Lake, he accused her of drinking too much alcohol. Even though all the women who’d been with Britt that day swore she hadn’t even been drinking, Jax refused to believe them. He insisted she’d been drinking too much and that’s why she was sick. I suspect Britt had stomach issues, possibly the start of an ulcer, from living with someone who bullied her all the time. Been there, done that.
Their relationship issues aside, the focus right now needs to be on Jax and Brittany’s young son, Cruz. Even though his parents have separated, it’s got to be better for him not to have to watch them constantly arguing.
TMZ reached out to Jax and Brittany’s reps for comment but has yet to hear back.
The Valley Season 1 is available to stream on Peacock.
