The dust is still settling from the news of Brittany Cartwright filing for divorce from Jax Taylor. Since the news broke, she’s been chilling at home getting alcohol delivered to her doorstep, and apparently, Jax is doing just fine, too. Insiders say that the divorce didn’t catch The Valley star off guard, and he’s ready to close this chapter.
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright had ‘irreconcilable differences’
The word on the street is that Jax got served with divorce papers on camera, so we’re probably going to see all of this in Season 2 of The Valley. To add insult to injury, this all happened shortly after exiting in-patient treatment for mental health struggles. It sounds brutal, but sources close to Jax say he is just as ready to move forward with this split as Brittany.
“Jax is 100 percent on board with moving forward with the divorce,” a source told Page Six.
The pair have been separated throughout all of 2024, and after five years of marriage, Brittany cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. An insider said that the couple was trapped in a “vicious cycle” of fighting. Thanks to Bravo, we’ve had a front-row seat to some of that. The insider said that in real life, it’s been clear for a while that they just weren’t a good match. Now, their focus is on their three-year-old son, Cruz.
“He’s been checked out from the marriage for a long time now. He just wants to have an amicable co-parent relationship,” the insider added.
Supposedly, Brittany hasn’t seen Jax in person since he left his in-patient rehab. However, she’s planning on letting him visit with Cruz soon. She’s asking for sole physical and legal custody, so this might be a preview of what the future will hold.
