Katie Ginella briefly spoke about her divorce and custody situation on Real Housewives of Orange County. The new Bravolebrity shares three children with her ex-husband, Andrew Sundseth. And their split was nothing short of tumultuous. Only now are RHOC fans getting a sense of how much so.
As with any new housewife, it’s a matter of time before the press starts to dig for more information. In Katie’s case, a police report from 2015 revealed that she and her ex-husband called the cops after an altercation in their home.
Andrew suspected Katie Ginella had been cheating “for months”
InTouch dug up the documents from Cobb County Police in Georgia. Cops responded to a call to the home around 8 p.m.
The officers noted Andrew and Katie “had both called 911 after having a dispute.” The former party accused his then-wife of “cheating on him with another man.”
“[Andrew] said he suspects the cheating has been going on for months after reading text messages between his wife and the man she has been seeing. He said during the argument he attempted to grab his wife’s cell phone from her while she was still holding it. [Andrew] said he pulled on the phone causing his wife to be pulled and fall to the ground,” the report read.
Further, “After getting the cell phone from his wife, [Andrew] said his wife began slapping him on the top of the head in an attempt to get the phone back. [Andrew] said he did not want his wife to go to jail.”
The RHOC star corroborated the story. She agreed that holding onto the phone caused her “to be pulled” with it.
“[Katie] said she slapped at her husband while attempting to hold onto the phone. [Katie] did not want to press charges,” the report confirmed.
It was written that there was “no injury to [Andrew] or [Katie].” They did not cause “interference” with each other’s ability to “call 911.”
Katie left the home to resolve the dispute, according to the report, and the children stayed with their father the next day.
