Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 15 Preview: Gael Cameron Confronts Joe Bradley

Joe Bradley has made a point to ruffle the feathers of all his Below Deck Mediterranean female co-workers, except for Aesha Scott. If it wasn’t him simultaneously pursuing Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller, then it was a situation of using his status as lead deckhand to belittle Gael Cameron on deck.

Joe called her “princess,” and generally suggests that she is not working as hard as the rest of the team. Finally, the Australian native will confront her superior in the preview for the upcoming episode.

Joe Bradley’s “intentions” on deck triggered Gael Cameron

In a teaser trailer for Season 9, Episode 15, Gael and Joe hash out their issues. The duo began a conversation on deck after it was clear that tensions were rising between them.

“I don’t know what your problem is with me. I try to put my head and and try to do sh-t to make you happy. But sometimes you’re a pr-ck. And I don’t know if you convince yourself that you’re not,” Gael told the lead deckhand.

She added, “Calling me a princess. You know you’re meaning it in a sh-t way.”

Joe mumbled some response in protest, but Gael made sure to stick to the point. She asked him, “You think I get treated differently? Do you think I don’t work as much?”

The clip then shows a montage of Joe micro-managing the deckhand. In several instances, Gael was well aware of what to do, yet got cautions from her superior.

“We’ve only got two charters left. You can believe what you wanna believe. But I know what I believe,” he responded.

The Australian native then spoke about her frustrations in a confessional interview, mainly, having to work twice as hard on deck to prove herself.

“People have a lot of preconceptions of me because I did dance, I did a pageant. But I also played rugby, and I’m on deck. I work my ass off not to be labeled as a princess,” she shared.

As the confrontation continued, Joe tried to defend himself by calling Gael’s feelings, “paranoia on your side.” He added, “I’m not like that one bit. Have I ever raised my voice or anything like that?” Gaslighting, party of one – your table is ready.

Back in the confessional, the deckhand further explained, “Words don’t trigger me, intentions trigger me. He thinks that I’m not a team player or that I’m getting special treatment. Because it’s not the case. So don’t characterize me like that. Don’t act like you know me, because you obviously don’t.”

Finally, the duo came to an understanding. Joe apologized for his behavior and hugged it out with Gael. Time will tell if the conversation resolved the situation.
