After nearly a decade together and four years of wedded bliss, Brittany Cartwright is calling time on her marriage to Jax Taylor. The couple has not had the easiest path to matrimony. Most would argue that a toxic union hurt both of them in the process. Last week, news broke that The Valley star had filed the paperwork to dissolve her marriage, claiming “irreconcilable differences.” The mother of one is looking to pick herself up by her bootstraps and move on. Luckily, she has some pretty great Bravo friends supporting her.

Season 1 of The Valley showed Brittany fighting for a voice in her relationship. After agreeing to have a second child, she was blindsided by Jax’s refusal and felt disheartened about her life plans. Viewers watched as Jax tried his best to gaslight his wife about her drinking, even going as far as to claim she wasn’t sick and just hungover while in Big Bear. In her confessional, Brittany opened up more than once about her lack of love for her husband. The Kentucky native even stated, “I feel like Jax is like sucking the life out of me and sucking away all my sparkle. How much more of this can I possibly take? I’m starting to realize all the little things that I have put up with for all nine years of my life.”
Even though Britt might have revealed she felt she was in a very toxic marriage, her pals are making sure to rally around her in this time of need. Shortly after filing for divorce, Brittany went to Instagram to let fans know she was hanging out there. In a sexy post, the mother of one wore a bright pink spaghetti strap dress which showed off the boobs Jax helped pick out. With a coy smile on her face, Brittany wrote, “Getting my sparkle back.”
Brittany Cartwright is surrounded by love amid divorce
Brittany is not about to look behind her as she marches forward. Her long-time friends are making sure to send her positive vibes. Good as Gold singer Scheana Shay wrote “Shining bright baby” in support of the mother of one. Former Temptation Island star Kady Cannon Crambeer shared her opinion by writing, “The sparkle never left boo.” Even former Vanderpump Rules server Dayna Kathan added, “And we LOVE to see it!!!” Brittany’s co-star and former Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, added, “Yes!! Love you, Queen Britt.”
One of the more surprising supporters turned out to be Kim Zolciak. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, who is going through her own marriage issues, wrote, “You deserve it!!” While The Bachelor’s Rachel Lindsay wrote, “Shine on.” Even some of The Valley boys are rallying around Brittany, with Zack Wickham writing, “Stunning? love you so much.” The show of support was overwhelming, with even some former Bravolebs coming out of the woodwork to show they were on Team Brittany. Summer House alum Lauren Wirkus added fire emojis and wrote “OK.” It is evident to everyone that Brittany never lost her sparkle, no matter how hard Jax tried to dull her shine.
Brittany Cartwright opens up about her reason for filing
In her first public statement, Brittany took to her podcast, When Reality Hits, to share her one primary motivation for filing for divorce. Britt noted, “It’s taken me many, many years to get to this point where I’ve gained enough courage to strength to do what was best for me, get myself out of a toxic relationship, and ultimately see my worth. It’s been very difficult, but I’m stronger than ever, and my motivation is my son, my cruisey, who deserves a happy and healthy mommy.” Brittany also revealed that she and Jax would be moving forward with the podcast but doing their own episodes. Even though it seems the two are trying to keep the peace, Brittany has already taken a jab at Jax online.
During a September 1 Instagram Post for a sex toy ad, Brittany wrote, “POV: in my self-love era. I’ve always done everything on my own, so I’m not going to stop now.” The post was one of the best-orchestrated burns, and Brittany doesn’t have to worry about the toy cheating. To say that Brittany will be thriving in her new, single life might be an understatement. But with supportive friends, there will be no stopping her. Thankfully we are going into my favorite era: It’s Brittany, b*tch.
