Though Candiace Dillard Bassett has stepped away from Real Housewives of Potomac, she’ll be stepping into motherhood. She and her husband, Chris Bassett, revealed in April that they were expecting after struggling with infertility and undergoing IVF.
Candiace and Chris just announced the gender of their baby on Instagram; they’ll be the proud parents of a baby BOY, set to arrive very soon!
Candiace says she had been feeling “a masculine energy”
Candiace and Chris shared the happy reveal on social media and with Us Weekly. Just a few days ago, Candiace was occupied with rebuking “the demon of stretch marks,” but it seems that she’s put that worry on the back burner to celebrate the impending arrival of her son.
Candiace apparently had an inkling that her womb-mate was a boy. She shared, “I started to feel a masculine energy. I just couldn’t deny the feeling of a sweet little boy growing inside of me.”
Now, she and Chris – who has three kids from a previous relationship – are putting the finishing touches on the baby’s Alice in Wonderland-themed nursery. Candiace says she’s also been spending time cherishing the final stretch of her pregnancy. “It’s the most magical and indescribable experience. I think I’m actually going to miss it, but I also can’t wait to meet him and stare at him all day,” said Candiace.
Though Chris is a chef, it looks like Candiace has been outsourcing for most of her random cravings. He’s probably had to “drive back” for lots of OG curbside pickup. “Olive Garden spaghetti with meat sauce, Apple Jacks cereal, and watermelon have been the top contenders. I’ve also had a few stretches where all I wanted was smash burgers…that was a great time.”
Baby Boy Bassett will be here in no time. While Candiace didn’t share an exact due date, she did drop a clue that it’s VERY soon. “I’m so happy to have a fall baby,” she teased.
