Phaedra Parks Aiming To Break Real Housewives DWTS Curse: ‘We Can Definitely Win’

“Everybody knows” that Phaedra Parks is who you call these days if you’re looking for TV gold. She had a pretty great run on The Traitors. Though not a doctor – just dating one – she made her way into Married to Medicine. The Real Housewives of Atlanta brought her back for the upcoming season after the Kenya Moore exit crisis. And, she was just announced as one of the cast members of Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars.

Phaedra isn’t the first Housewife to vie for the mirrorball trophy but hopes to be the most successful. In a recent interview, she shared that although most Housewives haven’t made it too far in the competition, she wants to “break the curse.”

Phaedra Parks is confident she could be the first Housewife to bring home the mirrorball trophy

Phaedra’s the latest behind a long line of her DWTS Housewife predecessors. Past Beverly Hills Housewives who’ve graced the stage include Lisa Vanderpump and Erika Jayne. Lisa Rinna and Denise Richards also both competed in the ballroom, but long before they joined RHOBH.

Before becoming a Real Housewife of Miami, Joanna Krupa danced her way to fourth place – tying with Lisa Rinna for the best finish among any of the ‘Wives.

RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice had a very brief run last season that even choreographed table flipping couldn’t save.

Over the years, RHOA’s NeNe Leakes, Kim Fields, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and Kenya Moore all put on their dancing shoes. But, to no avail.

Though not a Housewife, Vanderpump Rules Bravoleb Ariana Madix did waltz her way to a respectable third place last season.

Phaedra recently told Us Weekly that she hopes to put an end to the Housewives’ losing streak. Her dancing pro, Val Chmerkovskiy, won along with his partner Xochitl Gomez last year. So, Phaedra has her eye on the prize and is hopeful that she and Val can secure the win.

She explained, “The Housewives generally haven’t fared that well. I want to break the curse because we can definitely win.”

Phaedra’s ready to shake that “donkey booty” all of the way to the top. “I want to show the world that Housewives can do more than talk trash. We can actually dance!”

Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars premieres September 17 at 8/7c on ABC. The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to return for Season 16 in 2025.
