According to TMZ, Artem is no longer living in the family home after he was released on $25,000 bail. Sources close to Nikki have told the outlet that the mother of one is now on the hunt for a divorce attorney. She has apparently been making calls since Friday and told the source that her “intention” was to end her marriage with the professional dancer. The insider noted that Nikki started her heartbreaking search shortly after Artem allegedly attacked her. There was an apparent injury that initially led to his felony arrest.

After the altercation, Nikki was seen boarding a private jet to Las Vegas. On September 2, Nikki hosted Netflix’s Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef on Labor Day. The hot dog eating contest, which took place over the weekend, showed Nikki on stage being welcomed back by fans. Spectators cheered as they showed support for the athlete and her commitment to professionalism despite what had occurred only a few days prior. The source added that Artem has not been seen and has been crashing at his friend’s home, while Nikki has stayed in the family house with their four-year-old son.

Artem made a 911 call on August 29, asking for medical services. He then canceled the request for paramedics, but police responded to the address anyway. The reporting officers observed injuries on the victim’s body, which led to Artem’s arrest. Even though the injured party requested anonymity, many believe Nikki was the victim. Artem was charged under the  California Penal Code 273.5(a), for “willfully inflicting corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon a victim who is a current or former spouse or partner, or cohabiting family member.”
