Jax Taylor ‘On Some Serious Medication’ After Mental Health Facility Stay

Jax Taylor definitely garnered a lot of attention for the kickoff of The Valley. Unfortunately, it hasn’t all been for good reasons. Jax and Brittany Cartwright’s relationship problems, most recently leading to a divorce filing, fueled the show’s drama so far. Plus, Jax missed part of filming for Season 2 after checking himself into a mental health facility earlier this summer. It’s not been smooth sailing for the Number One Guy in the Group.

Jax was recently released from the mental health facility and fans have plenty of questions. He hopped on his When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany podcast, joined by his life coach rather than his soon-to-be ex-wife, to provide some answers. The Vanderpump Rules veteran wasted no time getting into the details of his time in the facility, including the result of getting a mental health diagnosis.

Jax Taylor is on a learning journey

Jax jumped right into talking about everything that’s happened in his life since checking himself into a 30-day facility back in July. “It was a very very scary step for me but it really really needed to happen,” he explained. “I knew something wasn’t right with me and I was really really scared to find out what it was.”

Despite not wanting to know for so long, Jax was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He said he’s spending time researching to get a better understanding of the diagnosis. “I’ve been put on some serious medication that’s actually helping me out a lot,” he added. It’s great to hear that Jax stopped running from his issues and is facing them head-on.

While Jax didn’t get into the specifics about his diagnosis or medication, he doesn’t plan on always keeping it private. “In time, I’ll definitely speak more about it openly, but right now I kind of just need to deal with this process,” he said. “This is a serious serious disorder.” We hope the best for Jax on his mental health journey.
