Dancing with the Stars announced its cast for Season 33, and one of Bravo’s housewives made the cut. Phaedra Parks will be hitting the floor with her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. Now that is a spicy duo! Unfortunately, Real Housewives stars haven’t had much luck in the ballroom so far.

Meanwhile, ever since she was cast on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls’ Trip, Phaedra has been booked and busy. She competed on Season 2 of The Traitors, and she was killing it (literally.) Her verbal smackdowns at the Round Table were legendary. But she was voted out, and forced to reveal that she was, in fact, a Traitor. After that, Phaedra joined Married to Medicine.

But when Kenya Moore twirled off Season 16 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra was given back her peach. As you may recall, Phaedra joined the show during Season 3 and was fired after Season 9. All because Phaedra spread a rumor about Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, allegedly wanting to drug and sexually assault Porsha Williams. When Porsha revealed that Phaedra was the source of the false story, it was curtains for the lawyer and funeral director.

Now Phaedra is ready to take on the ballroom. So let’s take a look at how well her fellow housewives performed, and see if Phaedra will beat the Real Housewives curse on DWTS.

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Guidice was the most recent housewife to compete. She was sent home during the second week of the competition. Womp, womp!

RHOA alum Kenya took on the dancing challenge during Season 30. She landed in 10th place. Then Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne signed on for Season 24 and was paired with Gleb Savchenko. They landed in ninth place. That was shocking since fans fully expected to see Erika thrive with her dance experience.

According to The Daily Dish, former RHOA peach Kim Zolciak competed on Season 21 but had to withdraw due to a medical scare. She underwent heart surgery but returned to dance with Tony Dovolani in the finale. Still, because she had to withdraw, she ended up in 11th place.

RHOA alum NeNe Leakes made it to week seven during Season 18 with her partner, Tony. And former Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump survived a graceful fainting spell during Season 16, but she and Gleb were the second couple sent packing. Were Tony and Gleb the official housewife whisperers?

Actress Lisa Rinna showed off her moves during Season 2 before she was a RHOBH cast member. She and her partner Louis van Amstel came in fourth place. Model Joanna Krupa also took fourth place during Season 9. She was paired with Derek Hough. However, Joanna also wasn’t a cast member on Real Housewives of Miami yet. But these two ladies came in with the highest scores.

Phaedra Parks wants to break the DWTS curse

Phaedra is pretty determined and a hard worker. She has two sons and several careers. Of course, she wasn’t excelling in all the physical challenges on The Traitors. But her charm convinced CT Tamburello to carry her across a river. I don’t think that will work on DWTS.

However, now Phaedra is ready to shake her “donkey booty” for all it’s worth to rep the housewives. “The Housewives generally haven’t fared that well. I want to break the curse because we can definitely win,” Phaedra told US Weekly.

She added, “I want to show the world that Housewives can do more than talk trash. We can actually dance.” Plus, Phaedra has always dreamed of quickstepping around the ballroom. “I have been a huge fan of the show since season 1, so I’ve always wanted to do it,” the Atlanta peach explained. “It’s definitely something off my bucket list, so I’m super excited.”

I will admit that I predicted that Phaedra would be in the middle of the pack as far as scoring. But if she works hard and masters the technique, she could exceed my expectations. I’m looking forward to seeing how she does in the waltz, foxtrot, and tango, which might be up her alley. I’m not sure I would bet on Phaedra to win, but she could stay in the competition for a fair amount of time.

Phaedra Parks was paired with winning dance pro, Val Chmerkovskiy

Phaedra was paired with Val, who has taken home the Mirrorball three times. Both Phaedra and Val have big personalities, as shown in this Instagram post. It was captioned, “It’s been good vibes since the moment Phaedra and Val met! #DWTS.”

When Phaedra panned the camera over to Val, she proclaimed, “Yeah! We gonna win!” She asked Val to showcase some of his go-to moves, which were hilarious. As for Phaedra? She is relying on her twerking ability. And RHOA fans have seen her in action. Plus, these two have some fun chemistry. I like it!

I’m looking forward to seeing Phaedra perform specific Latin dances. I think that the cha-cha and the salsa will show Phaedra’s flirtatious side and chemistry with Val. And I expect to hear at least one “Fix it, Jesus!” from Phaedra in each dance practice package.

And let’s be clear. Phaedra will be entertaining in the ballroom. Her personality, confidence, and enthusiasm will definitely be pluses on the show. I don’t think that Phaedra will end this season of DWTS with the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. I wish that she would! But I feel like Phaedra can beat the Real Housewives curse on DWTS and make it into the final three. Let’s go, Phaedra!
