Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s divorce was one of the most shocking things to come out of the debut of The Valley. Sure, we saw red flags throughout their time on Vanderpump Rules and beyond. But it just seemed like these two would never break up, even for the sake of proving the haters wrong. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.
Brittany finally broke away from Jax and is living her best single-mom life in L.A. However, considering she shares a career and a child with Jax, it’s unlikely that she’s totally going to be able to cut him out of her life completely. While the couple continues to parse out the details of their divorce, Brittany is focusing on doing what’s best for her son, even if it means putting up with Jax.
Brittany Cartwright is working out the kinks
In an interview with People, Brittany explained what her dynamic is like with Jax these days. The pair are successfully co-parenting, but it hasn’t been an easy adjustment. “He’s a great dad. Great dad, terrible husband,” she said. “I’m not ever going to take Cruz away from him. We will always put Cruz first and we are going to work towards a healthy co-parenting relationship.”
Brittany is optimistic about figuring out a new rhythm with Jax, but it’s not a simple equation. “It’s going to take some time. Still, things are very raw between us,” Brittany added. “But for the most part, I do know if I needed something, if Cruz needed something, I could call him and he would be there for us.” Godspeed to these two as they figure out how to do what’s best for Cruz.
