Why RHOC’s Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow Supporting Alexis Bellino Is Good for the Show

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 has been one of the most dramatic seasons for the franchise. Since premiering in 2006, the show, for the most part, has sat on top of the network’s podium. But the last few seasons gave fans a pause for concern as the series lost a bit of its magic. However, with the reintroduction of Alexis Bellino, everything changed. With a little help from the cool girls, aka Heather Dubrow and Tamra Judge, Alexis is starting to fit right in.

What’s that saying? ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.’ I feel like Alexis is making it her mission to go hard for John Janssen this season. As fans know, she snagged Shannon’s Beador’s ex-boyfriend and remodeled him into the modern-day gentleman fans see today, complete with semi-work Ferragamo shoes. Even though viewers might be annoyed with the merry-go-round feel of their love story, you have to admit the relationship is adding another layer of drama to the season.

Since Episode 1, Alexis has come in hot with her opinions and made her new union center stage when it comes to the action. Come to think of it, there hasn’t been one episode where Alexis hasn’t talked somebody’s ear off about Johnny J. I have to ask, is Alexis getting overtime for her commitment? Lex is an open book when it comes to her life and her sex life. Season 18 is being discussed like Real Housewives of New Jersey, and I have to give Alexis a lot of the credit. She is the one going into the trenches to argue with Shannon, who is seen as a saint. And Alexis is the one airing the former couple’s dirty laundry. It’s all so tantalizing that I couldn’t imagine the season without Alexis at this rate.

Okay, I have to admit that I was even swept up in the negativity against Alexis for a moment, and that just wasn’t fair. For some reason, every franchise is made to have a villain, and this season it was Alexis. But what if her relationship and stories are true? Then, us fans would have been burning her at the stake for nothing. I know it can be easy to jump on the bandwagon, but the amount of verbal abuse that has been hurled at this Real Housewives star is beyond comparison. First, viewers have an issue with her falling in love with John. As Alexis pointed out, the heart often wants what it wants. It wasn’t as if she had walked up to Shannon while she was with John and led him astray. The duo were very broken up.

Even the Real Housewives of Orange County cast seems to be leaning toward disliking Alexis. Naturally, Nine Lemons Beador is going to hate Alexis. But Emily Simpson’s talk last week with Alexis didn’t go well as she felt attacked. Vicki Gunvalson has no love for the young mom either, whom she has called dumb in the past. Could it be that the women know Alexis is serving this season while they are no longer giving us the main course?

Alexis Bellino has friends in penthouse places

Alexis lives the perfect country song that even Garth Brooks would be proud of. She strives to stay true to herself no matter who tries to bring her down. Luckily, she has a few friends on the cast who support her. It came as a bit of a surprise when Heather and Tamra revealed their friendship with Lex, but something about the alliance works. Heather has always been extremely inclusive when it comes to the RHOC group, and she wasn’t about to stop now. As for Tamra, she has come a long way since the episode where she threw Alexis out of her party. Honestly, it’s nice to see the women mature and treat one another with respect. The new “Tres Amigas” is the friend group I didn’t know I needed. (Don’t tell Vicki or she will be pissed.)

Watching Heather and Tammy Sue take Alexis under their wings is refreshing, and I like their dynamic. Alexis seems calmer around Heather, who actually gives out legitimate advice in hopes of the best outcome. But the best thing about seeing Heather and Tamra support Alexis is the simple fact that they aren’t part of the complaining gallery.
