Lisa Vanderpump’s Dog Foundation Settles Disgruntled Ex-Staffer’s Lawsuit

When Lisa Vanderpump opened The Vanderpump Dog Foundation, my applause sounded from my couch. While filming for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules series, Lisa’s love for rescues was always present. In opening her foundation, she undertook one additional step, helping to ensure that all animals found safe, loving homes. However, in a lawsuit filed by one of her former employees, Lisa allegedly failed to take care of her staff in this same loving manner. But thankfully, for all involved, LVP’s foundation has since settled this disgruntled former staffer’s claims.

According to The U.S. Sun, Eswin Rolando Bulux Tax became an employee of Lisa’s charity in May 2017. His position was a full-time gig, earning this employee $12.50 an hour. As for his job responsibilities, Eswin served on the cleaning crew for Lisa’s foundation. However, Eswin claimed that his work environment resembled a pressure cooker, where he “wasn’t paid the correct amount of wages and overtime.”

“Plaintiff’s meals were interrupted when a task came up that Defendants wanted him to attend to. Each interrupted meal period is to be treated like a missed meal and thus must be [re]compensated as one hour of work time,” his lawsuit read. Unfortunately for LVP, her foundation failed to respond to this lawsuit in the given timeframe. Therefore, Judge David Sotelo awarded Eswin $213,143 in damages, $21,234 in interest, $11,085 in attorney fees, and $915 in court costs.

The Vanderpump Dog Foundation was able to have this judgment set to the side. Their confused representatives [allegedly] sent their legal documents “to a random address in another city.” Oopsies.

This response led to a recent mediation between Eswin and the foundation. Following this mediation, this case is now heading for a dismissal. Both parties have reached a settlement agreement, which brings us to another ended lawsuit on Bravo. As for how much Eswin settled for, however, the court filings failed to say.

Unfortunately, Lisa still has several other lawsuits swirling around. Therefore, Lisa might have to step into a courtroom at some point down the road. Unless she settles these additional lawsuits as well, that is.

Vanderpump Rules and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are streaming on Peacock.
