After weeks of unrest, the Dancing with the Stars dancer finally received some good news. Artem Chigvintsev will not be facing criminal charges after his domestic violence arrest on August 29th. TMZ reported that Artem would not be prosecuted after his felony domestic violence arrest. Allison Haley, Napa County District Attorney, announced that her office had declined to file any criminal charges against the dancer. According to the press release, prosecutors chose not to pursue criminal charges after combing through all the evidence provided by the investigation. The D.A.’s office noted, “While we take every arrest seriously and stand firmly against domestic violence, we have an ethical obligation to only file charges when supported by the evidence.”

Further, the state’s office left the option open for possible criminal charges down the line if more evidence were to be found. Additionally, “We are required to prove any and every criminal charge ‘beyond a reasonable doubt,’ which is the highest standard in the American criminal justice system. If the available evidence doesn’t rise to this level of proof, then we cannot ethically file charges.”

He is grateful that the district attorney accurately assessed what took place and determined he should not be charged.” In conclusion, “He enjoys tremendous support from the community and requests privacy for the pending divorce matter. He loves his son, wants the best possible for him, and looks forward to the next chapter in his life professionally and as a father.” Now, Artem also is looking to rebuild with the help of his inner circle of supporters
