On Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, Whitney Rose is in her villain era. Turns out, naming Lisa Barlow “the villain” on a podcast really backfired. In the premiere, Whitney stormed out of Lisa’s party after being confronted over her lies. She gave Lisa the finger for good measure.

It looks like Whitney is in the hot seat all season long, and makes some controversial moves as a result. For instance, we know from the Season 5 trailer that Meredith Marks accuses Whitney of going through her phone. Then there’s the mysterious “sworn enemy.” The preview clip starts with Heather Gay chastising Whitney, “Never in a million years, after everything we’ve been through, did I think that you would reach out to our sworn enemy.” In response, Whitney says, “I sought out proof and was given the proof.”

Now that RHOSLC Season 5 is off to the races, fans are wondering how this drama will go down. So, who does Whitney reach out to? We’ll have to wait to know for sure. In the meantime, we have a few theories, come speculate with us!

Did Whitney Rose reach out to Monica Garcia during RHOSLC Season 5?

When Heather mentioned a “sworn enemy” in the RHOSLC Season 5 trailer, many viewers assumed she meant last season’s villain Monica Garcia. Adding to the speculation, Monica defended Whitney after the RHOSLC Season 5 premiere. Does this hint at an alliance between the former co-stars? Or is Monica just siding with anyone who opposes Lisa and Heather?

Last season ended with all of the RHOSLC ladies (save for maybe Mary Cosby) united against Monica after the Reality Von Tease reveal. So, she would seem to fit the bill of “our sworn enemy.” It also makes sense that Heather would be that angry about Monica. According to Monica, producers asked her to come back for Season 5. However, she claimed, the cast threatened to quit. Monica theorized that more than anyone, Heather blocked her return.

Whitney claimed the mystery enemy gave her the proof she wanted. Monica promised receipts for the Season 4 reunion, but her “burn book” didn’t deliver. Did Monica have more damning proof that she held back until Whitney reached out? Or is it a sign that Whitney turned to another “sworn enemy” for receipts?

Is Jen Shah the “sworn enemy” Whitney Rose reached out to?

At this point, it’s been two years since Jen Shah appeared on RHOSLC. But her name still comes up quite a lot. Despite being in prison, she also weighed in on the Season 4 finale. Now, according to @Mary_CosbyFan on Twitter, Whitney also contacted Jen during RHOSLC Season 5. The fan account claimed that “A few months after filming wrapped in SLC, one of my sources told me that Whitney was in contact with Jen Shah. I’m guessing Jen may be the sworn enemy.”

To say the ladies have a complicated relationship with Jen is an understatement. Would Heather call Jen their collective “sworn enemy?” In the Season 4 finale, Heather negatively compared Monica to Jen. She also finally said that it was Jen who gave her the black eye. Afterward, however, she almost seemed to defend Jen. On Watch What Happens Live, she said that “at least Jen was herself when she was defrauding the elderly.” She also said she hoped Jen was proud of the way they cast out Monica.

Either way, Jen was not happy with Heather. Did Whitney contact Jen to get the other side of the story? Considering Jen once threatened to drown Whitney in a bathtub, it would certainly be a twist if they became allies!

Could the “sworn enemy” in RHOSLC Season 5 be someone else entirely?

One thing’s for sure, the RHOSLC cast is constantly revealing new secrets, mysteries, and enemies. Keep in mind, most viewers hadn’t heard of Reality Von Tease before the end of Season 4. You can’t really predict how the storylines will ultimately play out with this show, which is one of the many reasons it’s so riveting. It’s also a benefit of a cast having so much history with each other. So, this means it’s possible the “sworn enemy” is someone not obvious to viewers. It may even be someone fans haven’t met yet.

At this time, we also don’t know what Whitney needs “proof” of. Whitney maintained that she never lied, even as Meredith, Lisa, and Heather brought up the many accusations she made against them and their cast mates. Did Whitney contact a mystery person about those accusations? Or is it something else entirely?

There are a number of mysteries in RHOSLC Season 5. For instance, who does Meredith accuse of recording her friends? Why did Lisa name newbie Bronwyn Newport as the season’s ultimate villain? And why are Lisa and Angie Katsanevas fighting? We’ll certainly be tuning in every Wednesday to find out!
