Big Brother 26 is heating up. The houseguests are dwindling and we have officially entered the jury phase of the game. As we inch closer to the finale, let’s take a moment to reflect on some of the houseguests’ performances in the game. Some players have stood out as “heroes,” while others have earned the title of “villain.”

Here is who I believe are the Biggest Heroes and Villains of BB26…

Big Brother 26: Angela Murray – Villain

Angela Murray is one of the best “villains” we’ve had in years. Her villain arc began in Week 1 when she targeted houseguest Matt Hardeman during her HOH reign. She painted a target on Matt’s back by telling the house he “verbally assaulted” her in her room. Her chaotic speech resulted in his eviction and kickstarted Angela’s villainous journey in the BB house.

Her next victim was Tucker Des Lauriers. The two were working together and even had a final two before Angela decided to turn on him. She suspected he was more loyal to his showmance Rubina Bernabe than her, so she hatched a plan to get him out of the house. It was villainous and chaotic, but it was great TV.

This week, she managed to get off the block by planting a seed that Leah Peters and Quinn Martin were a dangerous duo in the house. She has flipped on her closest ally so many times that I’ve started to lose count.

She’s a fascinating player to watch. She’s managed to have the Veto used on her three times despite not being in many alliances. It may not be a winning game but there is no doubt she is a compelling player.

Big Brother 26: Chelsie Baham – Hero

Chelsie Baham is my winner’s pick. There’s no doubt she’s playing a great game. She’s managed to form strong connections in the house and has positioned herself as a leader. She’s smart, strategic, and she knows when to keep her mouth shut (a skill many BB26 players lack).

She’s ambitious and will do what she needs to win, but I wouldn’t describe her gameplay as cutthroat or manipulative. She’s got a strong moral compass and I believe she’ll get to the end without souring relationships or creating enemies. Her jury management is incredible.

I see Chelsie as a “hero” in the house. She’s straightforward and true to her word but she’s not a boring player. She’s put in the work to get herself into a winning position. I wouldn’t be mad if she leaves the house $750,000 richer.

Big Brother 26: Leah Peters – Villain

I love how Leah is playing Big Brother, but it is pretty villainous. Her gameplay style is a throwback to the classic floater strategy of Big Brother 4 players Jun Song and Alison Irwin. Like Jun and Alison, her loyalties are never written in stone. Each week, she accesses who has the power and that is her bestie for the week. Respect. While some people may be thrown off by the “floater” strategy, we have to acknowledge how successful it can be. Jun won Season 4 by sucking up to whoever could keep her off the block that week.

It’s been a while since we saw someone truly display a floater strategy. It takes a lot of charm and charisma to get away with and we haven’t seen someone pull it off in a bit. Being a floater is different than being a “coaster.” We’ve seen many players coast through without actively playing. But “floating” is an active game strategy. It takes work to be a floater.

Big Brother 26: Tucker Des Lauriers – Hero

Tucker was the people’s prince in Big Brother 26. He played boldly and protected the people he cared about. He was to put it simply, heroic. He took huge chances and didn’t play it safe. We could debate all day about whether he played a good game but I think it is clear he was a hero of the season. He kept viewers on their toes and wasn’t afraid to go against the grain. Sure, he made a couple of enemies but he also had blindly loyal allies that would’ve followed him off a cliff. That’s impressive.

Big Brother airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS and Paramount +
