Dancing with the Stars celebrated Oscars Night with a twist. Since no contestants went home during the first week, that meant a dreaded double elimination. Actress Tori Spelling and con artist Anna Delvey both got the boot. And Anna was pretty salty about it.
Anna Delvey found the results “a little bit unbelievable”
Anna, also known as Anna Sorokin, was convicted of defrauding wealthy people, banks, and hotels. After her release from prison, she was given house arrest and had to wear an ankle monitor. She had to receive special permission from Immigration and Customs Enforcement to relocate from New York to California, where DWTS films.
After her elimination, co-host Julianne Hough asked Anna what she would take away from her ballroom experience. She replied, “Nothing.” Recently, Anna was a guest on Tori’s podcast, misSPELLING, so that they could discuss their DWTS elimination. “You guys told me what I’m supposed to do. I tried to do it, and then I still was rejected. And, I’m taking away nothing,” Anna explained. “This is what I’m taking away from it because your advice was worthless. The advice did not pay off for me, even though I tried to follow it,” she added. Oof.
Tori agreed that Anna’s point was valid. “I know people were trying to interpret my answer in different ways, but no, not really. I really did not take away much from this experience,” Anna stated.
Plus, Anna found the final results “a little bit unbelievable” compared to other competitor’s dances. She added that it “felt like a waste of time” for DWTS to add her to the cast “just to discard me so easily.” Well, it was the fans who technically had a large part in Anna’s departure. So, the people have spoken! Anna added, “But it is what it is and it’s fine. And I never had high expectations on the show for myself.”
Maksim Chmerkovskiy bashed Anna Delvey’s addition to the DWTS cast
However, the fans weren’t the only ones who weren’t thrilled with Anna being on the show. DWTS alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy weighed in. “She’s just a sh*tty dancer … I didn’t even get to see the ‘why’ she got on the show,” he stated. Then, on the other end of the spectrum, Anna’s partner, new pro Ezra Sosa had her back. “I knew she was going to say something very iconic and something very ‘Anna Delvey’ with her exit,” he said. I love Ezra’s enthusiasm and positivity.
Well, Anna seems to be pretty angry about being eliminated from a contest that she didn’t seem to care about.
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars will return with two episodes on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8 at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+.
