We almost made it a whole year without any discord between the Richards sisters. Just when Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton rekindled their relationship, now Kyle is on the outs with Kim Richards. It’s like the three of them are cursed to never be on the same page at the same time.
Kyle Richards is at another impasse with Kim
Allegedly, the latest rift between Kim and Kyle is because of Kim’s apparent relapse. The word on the street is that their relationship has, once again, reached a “breaking point.”
A source close to the sisters explained to People how Kim’s alcohol addiction has been an “ongoing source of conflict” between the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills sisters. In particular, the insider noted that Kyle has been having a hard time dealing with it.
The source said, “It particularly weighs heavily on Kyle, who has always been the worrier of the family.”
They continued, “She does her best to take care of Kim — and essentially bankrolls Kim’s life, with Kathy — but never knows where the line goes between helping and enabling.”
Earlier this month, Kim was reportedly taken into a psychiatric hold, and despite some of her struggles previously airing on RHOBH, they’re trying to keep her recent relapse under wraps. So far, that effort isn’t going well.
“The family are very private about details, but from the little they’ve said, it’s clear they’ve reached another breaking point with her,” the source explained.
“It’s the same cycle: chaos until there’s some incident that gets Kim back on track, then brief steadiness as they repair their relationship, then the drinking starts again, Kim makes excuses, Kyle pleads she gets help, etc., etc.,” the source continued.
After Kim’s latest incident, the family is trying to change their approach by cutting off contact. However, that decision has reportedly left Kyle in a difficult place. The source noted that she’s “torn apart by it all” and feels conflicted about the best path forward.
“She has the biggest heart,” the insider said of Kyle. “She loves her sister so much, and always will, but she doesn’t know what else to do.”
