Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko certainly make a handsome pair. The two are partners on the new season of Dancing With the Stars and have proven they have great chemistry. Maybe a little too much chemistry. Their flirty behavior is receiving backlash from some of the fans.
It’s been brewing for some time now and fans are beginning to express their thoughts on the potential “showmance.” Several viewers are saying it’s cringe and that they can barely focus on the dancing because they are too put off by the kissy stuff.
Fans do not love the flirtiness between Gleb Savchenko and Brooks Nader
Because of the nature of the show, partner chemistry is a key element of success on DWTS. And Brooks and Gleb certainly aren’t the first pair to get flirty. While some showmances have been accepted in the past, this one just isn’t doing it for the fans.
The pair have been posting flirty TikToks and were even allegedly caught kissing backstage. An insider on the show even claimed they were “hooking up” although it wasn’t serious and that it was just casual fun.
For their part, the pair has denied any romance although some of their videos and interactions would suggest otherwise. Fans aren’t digging their vibe and saying so both on Brooks’ social media and on Reddit.
“Can we just vote them off… please,” one viewer wrote.
Another vowed to vote for anyone else but them. “I will vote for absolutely every other contestant with my entire family’s phones because this makes me feel nauseous. Like I can’t even watch the dancing because I’m cringing so hard.”
And still another likened their dances to soft porn. “I don’t mind showmances like Jenn and Sasha who give us fun banter and flirtation,” the commenter said. “I don’t appreciate Gleb and Brooks’ soft porn dances. Can we NOT vote for them?”
Perhaps the anger also stems from the fact that the pair keep denying that anything is going on and keep acting like it is. It probably seems disingenuous to viewers.
As for their dancing, Brooks and Gleb are doing decent and keeping to the middle of the leaderboard. Time will tell if the backlash will make them change course or if they’ll double down on the flirting.
