Episode 3 of Survivor 47 aired tonight on CBS. The episode titled “Belly of the Beast” was 90 minutes of pure chaos. Alliances shifted, players made tough choices, and the cattiness reached new heights.

If you missed tonight’s episode, we’ll bring you up to speed.

Here is everything you missed on Episode 3 of Survivor 47 …

Tension rises within the Survivor 47 tribes

Tonight’s episode began with the Tuku tribe discussing the previous Tribal Council. TK was voted off the Island after pissing off some of his tribemates with his machismo attitude.

Over at Gata’s camp, tension was building between Anika and Sam. He was annoyed by her alpha attitude and her need to control the tribe. Right now, Gata is composed of two duos, and Andy, who is on the sidelines waiting to be picked up by one of them. Anika has Rachel and Sam has Sierra.

While Gata is far from one big happy family, they are functioning better than the Lavo tribe, who are about ready to throw Rome into the ocean. They are so annoyed by him and I don’t blame them. It’s like if you had to be around an annoying roommate 24/7 while also starving and sleep-deprived. Yeah, that doesn’t sound like an ideal situation.

Rome certainly has strengths in the game. He’s good at fishing and he already secured an Immunity Idol. However, his overconfidence and lack of social skills will be the death of him. Rather than sharing his fish with his tribe, he ate most of the food and gave them the scraps. This pissed off Aysha, giving her more reason to want to vote him out.

New alliances are made on Survivor 47

At Gata’s camp, Sierra is trying to bring Andy into her alliance with Sam. She doesn’t fully trust him but sees the value of having another number on their side. To gain their trust, Andy lets her “borrow” his Shot In the Dark. I don’t know how to feel. The move does seem to win him some brownie points with her but it is just such a risky move for someone on the bottom. It could work out in his favor but it could also go horribly wrong. I’m still mad at him for not taking that Immunity Idol last episode.

Over at Tuku, Kyle expressed concern about his place in the tribe after TK’s elimination. He was on the wrong side of the vote last Tribal. Gabe, noticing Kyle’s precarious placement in the tribe, reached out and provided him with some crucial game information. He told his tribemate he wanted to work with him and warned him about Sue and Caroline’s close relationship. In a confessional, Gabe bragged about having Kyle in his back pocket and mocked his loyal nature.

Well, he was wrong because it took about 30 seconds for Kyle to betray him. Kyle used the information to paint a target on Gabe’s back, telling Sue and Caroline that Gabe views them as his “goats.” It was a solid gameplay strategy. I like what I’ve seen from Kyle so far and I’m hoping he continues on this path. Unfortunately for him, Sue did not take the bait. She brushed off the conversation and stated she didn’t want to talk game. Nothing annoys me more than a castaway saying they don’t want to talk game. That is the whole point of being here, Sue.

Three castaways go on a journey for power

Now it’s time to send one castaway from each tribe on a journey in the hopes of securing an advantage. Kyle is going for Tuku, Rome is representing Lavo, and Anika is Gata’s pick. The three castaways do a bit of game talk on the journey. Rome is delighted that Tuku decided to vote out TK because he “couldn’t stand his ego.” Ah, the irony. Rome that is how your tribe feels about you! Rome tells them that Aysha and Sol are running his tribe and that he’s on the bottom. In a confessional, he explains that he wants to paint a target on Sol and Aysha’s back. It’s honestly a pretty good move. He’s getting ahead of himself but if he makes it to the merge, he’ll have two people who see him as a lone castaway with no strong ties to his tribe. I see the vision.

What happened at the summit?

Once they arrive at the summit, the three castaways break apart to discover the risk or reward challenge. Here’s how it works. They will each reach into a bag that has three packages inside. Two of the packages contain a Lose Your Vote, one package contains an advantage. If the castaway pulls out a Lose Your Vote, they can choose to pick again. If they pull out a second Lose Your Vote, they will not be able to vote for the next two Tribal Councils.

Anika and Sam both pull a Lose Your Vote package. They decide not to pick again and accept losing their vote for one Tribal Council. Rome gets an advantage, which turns out to be a Steal a Vote. Damn, he’s such a lucky player.

The castaways return to camp to fill in their tribemates on the journey. Anika lies and says she had a choice to risk her vote and she decided not to partake. Later, she tells the truth to Rachel and Sierra, which I think is a mistake. She can trust Rachel but Sierra is more loyal to Sam, who doesn’t like her. It doesn’t look good for Anika at this point.

Rome tells Aysha he lost his vote but she isn’t buying it. He tells the truth to Teeny, Genevieve, and Kishan.

Who went home on Episode 3 of Survivor 47?

Gata and Tuku won Immunity during the challenge, which means Lavo is headed for their first Tribal Council. Teeny and Kishan know about Rome’s Immunity Idol and his Steal a Vote, so they decide they can’t vote him out quite yet. The target lands on Aysha and Sol with the group leaning towards Sol. Rome has a talk with Sol to try to convince him he’s not the target. The conversation is bizarre and Sol clocks him right away. Rome is convinced he’s a mastermind who has Sol eating out of the palm of his hand. In a confessional, he compares his strategic ability to that of Survivor legend Boston Rob. Oh boy, the internet is going to eat him alive for that. Never compare yourself to Boston Rob. That is like Survivor 101.

Teeny likes Aysha and wants to work with her, so she tries to convince her that Sol has to be the vote tonight. She says that Rome will use his Immunity Idol to protect Genevieve. Aysha is stubborn and says she doesn’t want to vote out Sol. Now Teeny and Kishan view Aysha as not adaptable and are more willing to vote her out. At Tribal, she becomes the third person booted from Survivor 47. Brutal.

I didn’t want either Sol or Aysha to go this week. I will say, I’m interested in seeing more of Sol. He’s had a bit of an invisible edit and I’m glad I get to see him play longer.

Survivor 47 continues Wednesdays on CBS.
