Why Bravo Needs To Hire Anna Delvey

Anna Delvey is more than a con artist and fraudster who posed as a wealthy heiress to access upper-class New York in 2013. Anna, who is 33, was released from jail in 2021. Like Joe Giudice, she was sent to an immigration detention facility for allegedly overstaying her visa. She was released on bail in 2022 and has been held under house arrest. But something about her story has captivated the American audience.

Anna Delvey will fit right in with the Real Housewives crime family on Bravo

As followers now know, Anna is no heiress but just another one of us, the common folk. Like most Real Housewives, she had ideas of grandeur. Even though a petite woman, she had a rather oversized ego. After years of lying, she was caught and convicted of second-degree grand larceny, theft of services, and first-degree attempted grand larceny in 2019. At the time, she was sentenced to four years in prison. In her prime, Anna scammed countless wealthy socialites and defrauded several prominent banks and hotels during her time in the Big Apple. Anna’s charade was entertaining, to say the least, leading many to think she would fit right in at Bravo.

The network has had a plethora of Real Housewives break the law. In 2014, Teresa Giudice pleaded guilty to bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud after not reading the fine print her husband put in front of her. Jen Shah literally tried to outrun the FBI on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. In the end, she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud for running a telemarketing scheme that defrauded elderly people out of thousands of dollars. Another famed face, Luann de Lesseps, was arrested for attacking a police officer while drunk. And Kim Richards was once arrested for shoplifting. So it is safe to say Anna would be in good company.

Anna Delvey is as blunt as they come

Upon being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, Anna was asked what she would take away from this learning experience. Instead of answering with politically correct advice, she told viewers, “Nothing,” and laughed. People were already upset that a person like Anna was cast because it felt like ABC was glamorizing lying. While on Tori Spelling’s podcast, misSPELLING, Anna doubled down, claiming she said what she said because “it was the truth.” Her lack of sugar-coating rubbed fans the wrong way.

Anna went on to say, “You guys told me what I’m supposed to do. I tried to do it and then I still was rejected. And, I’m taking away nothing. This is what I’m taking away from it because your advice was worthless.” There have also been many Real Housewives stars who have word-vomited and not cared. Ramona Singer pops into my mind as she always apologizes for stepping in it. Recently, fans watched Lisa Barlow rage in a hot mic moment against her friend, Meredith Marks. Sometimes, a Real Housewives star just can’t hold their outbursts in.

Bravo is good at dealing with over-the-top talent

There is no hiding that Bravo has some high-maintenance talent on their payroll. So, I doubt that Anna would be a big deal. Some Bravo stars ask for seats on the couch next to Andy Cohen. Others ask for certain subjects not to be brought up. But I’d wager Anna wouldn’t mind all the attention being on her. She might even be an open book if cameras were to follow her around. If Bravo hired Anna, I’d wager they would get a ratings boost. I think the main reason is the viewer’s curiosity.

But what franchise could Anna even go on? She spent most of her time in the Big Apple so she could debut on the Real Housewives of New York. But she might not be accepted because New Yorkers are tough and don’t appreciate imposters. Bravo also could have a liability on their hands. If they were to extend Anna a contract, how do they know they won’t end up being duped, too? But Bravo is always looking to shake things up, so that could mean Anna might very well be getting some kind of offer. Just don’t expect her to be the center apple.
