Why Stassi Schroeder Didn’t Return to Vanderpump Rules and ‘Argued’ With Producer

Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder was famous for her quick tongue and her wild relationship with Jax Taylor. She led the Witches of WeHo, which also included Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney. That is until Stassi and Kristen were fired.

In 2020, Kristen and Stassi were fired, along with two other cast members, for racist behavior. During her time away from Pump Rules, Stassi churned out another New York Times bestseller, Off With My Head, which detailed being canceled.

And now the married mom of two, who made it official with Beau Clark, is making her reality TV comeback. She snagged a spot on Hulu’s Vanderpump Villa. The series features her previous boss, Lisa Vanderpump, overseeing a luxury villa in the French countryside. Seeing Stassi in that environment will be amazing. Let the chaos begin!

Plus, she also inked a deal with Hulu for her own docuseries, called Stassi Says. And while many Pump Rules fans hoped that she would join Kristen on The Valley, Stassi has no interest in it.

Stassi Schroeder didn’t need Pump Rules anymore

Recently, Stassi was a guest on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, and she opened up about almost returning to VPR. “It was right after I announced my second book, Off With My Head,” Stassi explained, “and I was asked by a producer to come back and I had to really think about it. We kind of argued about it.”

When Stassi went to the meeting, she had already decided to decline the offer. After seeing the positive feedback on her most recent book, Stassi realized something. “I could keep going and doing it on my terms,” she stated. However, Stassi was in for a surprise. The producer didn’t have actual approval for Stassi’s return.

So, she wouldn’t have made it back to Pump Rules before Scandoval broke. “It was a really messed up situation, but it was a mind f*ck. [I] can’t imagine filming with Tom Sandoval,” Stassi explained. Amen, Stassi!

Stassi still has friendships with VPR co-stars Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, and Katie. “So much time has passed. I’ve been out of their filming world for so long,” Stassi said. “And when they’re not in their filming world, everyone is a lot more relaxed and normal. I don’t have that constant fighting or whatever.”

I’m looking forward to seeing what Stassi brings to Vanderpump Villa.

All episodes of Vanderpump Villa are streaming on Hulu. Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
