Newbie Katie Ginella has fit in quite nicely on the Real Housewives of Orange County. The former golf reporter immediately befriended Shannon Beador, which is no easy feat. She also brought the drama on day one with alleged receipts that Heather Dubrow called the paparazzi on herself. Katie has also been an open book. She not only discussed her divorce but being adopted as well. And now Katie might have more family news to share with the possibility of meeting her birth mother.
Katie Ginella hopes to meet her birth mother after she films the RHOC reunion
Not a lot of people are comfortable with sensitive topics on camera, but Katie has done so with ease. She had a heartwarming scene with her daughter deciding to take her stepfather’s last name. This was a big deal as her daughter and her birth father are no longer speaking. Family dynamic is very important to Katie, which is why we might get to see more of it soon.
Katie sat down with Bravo & Blaze to discuss potentially meeting her birth mother. She said, “We were actually supposed … to go meet my birth mother in May, and then it got pushed back to June. And then my father-in-law went into care at a hospital. He was ninety and went into care and then into hospice, and he passed away in July.”
She continued, “So we’ve kind of pushed our trip … unfortunately. We’re working with tours in Korea because I think my husband’s production company, they want to make a documentary out of this … So now we’re going next month because we’re filming the reunion soon, and I didn’t want anything clouding anything before that. So we’re going after the reunion, but we’re going to potentially meet my birth mother.”
This big moment and making a documentary might be why she’s not sure if she will come back next season. Katie has already proven she can handle hosting a dinner party from hell, so who knows what else she could bring to the table on RHOC.
