Hulu gave us a gift that won’t stop giving via its latest series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This reality mess centers around Mormon MomTokers in Utah, who fight their demons with one swaying hip at a time. During Season 1, however, Whitney Leavitt saw her friendships within this cast deteriorating. Her husband, Conner Leavitt, also stressed her out, as his porn addiction drifted into speculations about his sexuality, alongside rumors of his alleged infidelities. As Whitney stated on air, Conner never physically strayed, and on his sexuality, she now has an answer for this as well.

Whitney might have left the group chat, but she is still showing up to help promote her series. Her latest appearance was on the Off The Vine podcast, which took place just this week. On this podcast, the host, Kaitlyn Bristowe, had many questions for this Secret Lives star. But when she asked Whitney what the “craziest rumor” she’d seen about herself online was, Whitney immediately jumped to Conner.
“That my husband’s gay!” she laughed. She then asked, “Do I need to put out a sex tape, or something? Like, trust me. We’re good. Everything’s fine.”
Oh, lawd Whitney. I know that you are joking. But please, for the love of all, this series already contains enough drama as it is, so please, do not drop a sex tape on TikTok.
As for why people might suspect that Conner is gay, Whitney thinks that this is all a big misunderstanding. This one is on the viewers, she suggested, since we might have misinterpreted one of the scenes from this show.
“There’s a scene where one of my friends says something along the lines of how they could see how he was confused sexually,” Whitney began. She then revealed that “He was sexually assaulted at a very young age. It’s a trauma he’s worked through; it’s so inspiring. And I think people took that out of context,” she further explained.
Thankfully, Whitney and Conner are now “in a great place.” But will they appear on Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? Only time will tell.
