Below Deck Med Season 9: 35-Day Viewership Could Be Best in Three Years

Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean surged to a new series high in viewership numbers compared to previous seasons. Not only did the show perform well, but it’s on track to set a new record overall for the Below Deck franchise, according to Multiplatform + 35 data.

It’s not surprising that Below Deck Med is increasing in viewership, given the impressive build on Season 8’s numbers. According to available data, Season 9 has bettered last year’s numbers by 16%. When looking at adults in the 18-49 age group, that growth increases to 26%.

According to Variety, the first 14 episodes of the season averaged 3.4 million viewers during the first 35 days of viewership. 1.7 million of those viewers were from the all-important 18-49 demographic.

The final three episodes of the season have yet to reach the 35-day mark. But provided the trend remains on track, Season 9 could achieve the best MP+35 viewership of any Below Deck series since 2021. This would be a big accomplishment, as the show competes with so many other popular offerings in the franchise. Aside from the original Below Deck, the franchise includes Below Deck Sailing Yacht (currently airing), Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Adventure. (Sadly, BD Adventure was canceled after only one season, but it’s still available for streaming on Peacock.)

The last time a BD show hit this level of viewership was when Below Deck Med Season 6 (2021) registered a 35-day average of 3.5 million viewers (1.8 of whom fell into the 18-49 category).

The above numbers were compiled by a combination of Neilsen measurements of Below Deck’s Bravo viewers, compiled with Peacock streaming data provided by NBCUniversal.
