We’ve reached the penultimate episode of Season 1 of The Anonymous, which means one of these liars is dangerously close to winning a big, fat chunk of change.
Of course, DANI isn’t going to make that easy, and she already teased that she has a few more surprises planned before calling it a wrap. Hang in there, folks!
What happened in The Anonymous Season 1, Episode 11?
After last week’s handle refresh evened the playing field, the remaining players battled it out for a spot in the finale. There’s only room in the finale for five of them, so with time running out in the game, there was a serious sense of desperation permeating throughout the house. It’s getting harder and harder for the players to keep their lies going, and the alliances have been thrown out of the window. Here’s a breakdown of what went down on The Anonymous Episode 11, “Buzzed Off.”
A fashionable exit
Episode 11 kicked off off at the elimination ceremony, where DANI dropped the devastating news that Dillian had been chosen by The Anonymous to exit the game. Ugh. There goes all the fun and fashion, you guys.
“Baby, they finally kicked my loud ass out. Wow,” Dillian said in reaction to the news.
For those of us watching from home, Dillian’s elimination probably didn’t feel too surprising. We knew there were a lot of players gunning for him since the beginning. They just couldn’t handle all of his razzle-dazzle, and his little silent mode stunt didn’t help his case.
Ironically, it’s revealed in a flashback that Christopher won the power of The Anonymous this week. Remember when Dillian dragged Christopher back in Episode 4? Well, he finally got his revenge.
Back at the circle, Dillian gave an emotional exit speech about his time on the show. He said he was grateful for everyone in the competition and then gave Nina a strong endorsement for winning the whole thing.
“You have played this game with so much grace,” Dillian told Nina. “You got what it takes to take it all the way. Believe in you, and stay calm.”
After drying his tears and revealing the three secret handles he used throughout the game, Dillain strutted out of the competition. Literally. He stomped out of the house like it was a runway, and suddenly, the show just got a little less fabulous.
Does Nina have a new target on her back?
As heartwarming as it was for Dillian to give Nina such a strong shoutout during his elimination, the situation left Nina paranoid. Did he just put a giant target on her back on his way out the door?
Fortunately for Nina, Marcel and Christopher were still convinced that Lilly had something to do with some of the biggest eliminations. They’ve branded her the “Grim Reaper” of The Anonymous, which is hilarious since we know Lilly’s only victim so far was Xavier.
Outside of Nina’s concern about Dillian’s exit speech, she also finally got confronted about her Survivor connections. Jack spilled the beans about it to some of the other players in private, but Marcel finally went straight to the source. Of course, Nina lied so hard that her pants almost caught on fire right before our eyes.
Nina said, “I think I’ve watched Survivor like once because Billie Eilish said it in a song.”
She continued, “My mom is not physical at all. She would not be a challenge winner, that’s for sure. She’s not an outdoorsy person.”
Yikes! Without anyone to question Nina, Marcel admitted in his confessional that he had no idea whether or not to believe her. That’s just how good she is at deception. It’s almost a little scary.
DANI’s shocking little challenge
So far on The Anonymous. DANI has challenged the players to puzzles that tested their patience and their math skills. This week, she decided to up the stakes with a twisted challenge called Buzzed Off.
At first glance, it seemed simple. Split into two teams of three and pass a metal hoop around a maze of metal frames. Whoever finishes first wins, and they bank $1,000 for every checkpoint. Easy enough? Wrong. DANI dropped the little tidbit that if their hoop touched the metal frame, they’d get hit with a jolt of electricity and have to start over again. It’s just another reason why you can’t trust AI.
The teams split up with Christopher, Victoria, and Lilly on one team, and then Nina, Marcel, and Andy on the other. DANI said that whichever team got the furthest through the maze would then enter a second round of competition to battle for safety and a spot in the finale.
After enduring a whole lot of zaps, Marcel, Andy, and Nina won the competition. Overall, the players earned $10,000 into the prize pot, and immediately, they had to go into the second round of competition.
To win safety, they had to hold a metal ring in one spot without letting it touch. The last player standing would be safe from elimination, and it went to none other than Nina! After all, she won an endurance challenge on Survivor Australia. She’s not new to this, and now, she’s one step closer to the finish line.
Who is going on the chopping block?
The Anonymous Mode chat almost felt empty with so few players left in the game. Plus, Nina had safety so that was one less person to target. Fortunately, Andy aka Banana got things kicked off by dragging Lilly in the chat. He felt like her time had come, and he let everyone know both in person and the chat.
Once again, the players started discussing the idea of targeting Victoria and Christopher. Everyone has been floating this idea since their showmance started, but their attempts have failed. This time, it might finally happen. Here’s how the votes shook out:
- Banana voted for Victoria
- Wolf voted for Victoria
- Crown voted for Lilly
- Ghost voted for Lilly
- Rainbow voted for Andy
- Tea voted for Andy
That means, Marcel, Christopher, and of course, Nina have a guaranteed spot in the finale. Congratulations to them! Meanwhile, the three players at risk went into panic mode to try to keep themselves afloat.
Victoria had a major slip-up
As the dust settled from the nominations, Lilly started working overtime to try to get people to realize that bringing Victoria and Christopher into the finale together would be a dumb idea.
Before the Anonymous test, Lilly, Victoria, and Nina were all commiserating about the competition when Victoria accidentally outed herself. Has anyone else slipped up this bad?
“I know exactly who I said I was going to vote for in my head and I voted for her,” Victoria said, completely nonchalantly.
Lilly and Nina gave each other a look, and we all know that look. It’s like they telepathically said to each other, “Did this girl really just say that?”
Victoria tried to talk her way out of the gaffe, but it became extremely obvious to Lilly that she wasn’t in her corner. Truly, a failure of epic proportions.
At the end of the episode, DANI teased who might have won the power to eliminate this week. It looks like it will either be Christopher or Marcel. One of them will have the final say in who makes it into the finale, and who is going home emptyhanded.
The Anonymous continues next Monday on USA Network at 10/9c.
