Last season on Dancing with the Stars, dance pro Emma Slater and her partner, Mauricio Umansky, had tongues wagging. The two were very friendly. Combine that with rumors of trouble in Mauricio’s and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards’ marriage, and everyone thought that the duo had a romantic relationship. If not a romance, at least a very close friendship.
Of course, Emma also struck up a friendship with her partner for Season 33 of DWTS, actor Reginald VelJohnson. Although this vibe was quite different than her friendship with Mauricio. It seems like Emma is just the type of person that people gravitate towards.
Emma Slater suffers an ankle injury
Sadly, Emma is going to be taking it easy due to an ankle injury. She shared the news via Instagram. She posted a carousel of photos, including one of her in a hospital bed and one with fellow DWTS pro Britt Stewart. Emma and Reginald were eliminated on Hair Metal Night, along with actor Eric Roberts and Britt. It’s too bad that we couldn’t eliminate one guest judge instead.
In her Instagram post, Emma wrote, “Today threw a little curve ball at me but got looked after by some special people. On the phone to my mum and dad letting them know I’m ok. All is good, will be back soon.”
She continued, “@brittbenae thanks for these #memories! Thought I was gunna be cutting a rug with my fellow #eliminated pros but sadly I got #eliminated from that crew too.” She added, “So I think I’ll go join @thereginaldveljohnson and just sit on the couch for a bit.” It’s unclear how Emma injured her ankle.
Of course, her DWTS family gave Emma some love in the comments. “Always the best memories with you no matter what the situation. Sending healing energy your way my friend,” Britt wrote. Emma’s former husband and fellow DWTS pro Sasha Farber wrote, “Feel better em.”
Dancer Jenna Johnson commented, “Emskiiiii no. sending you major hugs and kisses.” She added some crying emojis. Finally, her Season 32 partner, Reginald posted, “Speedy recovery Emma.”
