Jeff Lewis has always been the man who dug deep for a good kernel of gossip. The former Bravoleb is an acquired taste due to his snarky attitude. But after leaving the network he was given his own podcast where he could still dabble in the Bravoverse. Along the way, Jeff formed a friendship with Real Housewives of Orange County’s Shannon Beador, and the two became inseparable. But she may have found herself in hot water after a recent appearance on his show.

Shannon Beador’s time on the podcast was telling

In April, with the permission of her lawyer, Shannon went to the podcast to proclaim her innocence. But what actually happened was she gave co-stars and listeners cause for pause when it came to John Janssen’s story. Shannon first shared that “there were two times where he gave me money. And there were many times where I paid for things or gave, which you would say equates to me giving him money.” Jeff first stated, “He gave you some money. Unsolicited.” Shannon answered “No, I did need money at the time. He said, ‘I wish you could get a low-interest loan’ and I go, ‘Well, you have money.’” So basically she asked him for the dough.

The mother of three did admit that in the second half of the relationship, John paid for stuff. But in the first half, she was in charge of covering travel and meals out. Shannon noted that she offered to pay “John the exact amount he wanted. But he turned the deal down because he didn’t want to sign a mutual nondisparagement agreement.” You could hear Shannon’s exasperation during the interview as she added, “I don’t want to think about John Janssen anymore.”

Jeff Lewis claims Shannon Beador fibbed on his show

During the show, Jeff also asked whether or not she thought John had heard the DUI crash that occurred right outside his window. At the time, Shannon claimed she hadn’t thought about it. The podcast host is shedding a bit of light on the issues that Shannon noted while on his show. Last week’s Real Housewives of Orange County episode showed the women getting quite angry over Shannon’s wording and left them thinking she might have lied to them. Heather Dubrow’s conversation with Shannon was replayed as the Real for Real owner was shown sharing a text from John after the crash.

During the podcast episode, Shannon was seen telling the 54-year-old host that it never occurred to her that John might have heard the wreck. Jeff tried to perform some damage control, noting, “It never occurred to Shannon; it really didn’t.” However, Jeff believed that it was probable that John heard his ex hit the Newport Beach house, noting the thought occurred to him immediately. Jeff even shared that he “had been to John Janssen’s many times, and as I got all the information from the accident, I had said, ‘Wait a minute. You backed up.”

Jeff continued, “Literally, you hit that house in seconds.’ She’s like, ‘Seconds.’ And I said, ‘Okay,’ and I had said to Shane, and then I mentioned it to Shannon. And I don’t regret doing it because I’m her friend. But I said, you know, the front door … It’s like a waterfront house, and then the front door is all the way at the front. So you have to walk down that long sidewalk. So I said, ‘I just don’t understand, Shannon. How did he not hear that accident, because that would’ve been a huge crash.” Jeff did his own sleuthing as he added, “I think he could probably hear the crash. Or maybe he didn’t. Or maybe he was intoxicated or whatever,” he reasoned. Keep in mind, this is all from the POV of Jeff, who wasn’t there, and Shannon, who was obviously not in her right mind.

Real Housewives of Orange County fans learned that Jeff was scheduled to film with Shannon to talk about the accident, but in the end, he backed out. The designer shared that “The problem was that was when the lawsuit had kicked up. And so I said, ‘I’m not doing this because he’s litigious.’ And I said, you know, ‘Even though I don’t know anything. I don’t know for certain. I’m not making any claims. I’m just saying I just question it because I have been to that home.” Shannon almost had an ally, it seems, but Jeff explained, “Bravo wouldn’t indemnify me. So I said, ‘I can’t.’ I’m like, ‘I can’t risk this. I can’t risk getting sued.”

Real Housewives of Orange County is streaming on Peacock.
