Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s ongoing divorce is gearing up for a dramatic second season of The Valley. The demise of their relationship has always been present on TV, from the spinoff’s first season to the good old days on Vanderpump Rules. However, it seems to have taken an extremely toxic turn.
Brittany and Jax have been duking it out in public since the news of their separation dropped. They both double down that they’re prioritizing co-parenting their son, which is what really matters amidst the mess. And it’s probably why the two were recently spotted at a pumpkin patch with their kid. By “spotted,” we definitely mean that Jax posted photos with his soon-to-be ex-wife on Instagram that sent fans into a frenzy. Now, Brittany is sharing her side of the story.

In the latest episode of their When Reality Hits podcast, Brittany hopped on to explain the photos of her and Jax hanging out amicably with their son. “This was my son’s first all-school field trip. So the entire school was there,” Brittany said. Then, she used proof that Scheana Shay was there with Summer Moon, so it wasn’t just an intimate family outing.
Brittany said she posted a photo of herself with Cruz during the field trip, while Jax posted photos that included her on his own page. In all honestly, Brittany didn’t even realize that Jax posted her on Instagram until after the fact. “I think he just wants everyone to think that everything is just OK,” Brittany continued. “But, we are trying to co-parent, so at situations like that, where we both are going to have to be at — like, he begged me to go to the field trip. I’m like, ‘OK, fine, like of course if this is for Cruz, I’m all for that.'”
Basically, she wants fans to understand that she’s not pretending that “everything is fine” with her divorce or faking things for attention. As we mentioned, she’s just focused on the well-being of her son. “Hopefully one day we can be friends. It’s just not right now,” Brittany concluded on her status with Jax these days. The mess continues.
