Shannon Beador is having a rough Season 18 on Real Housewives of Orange County. Her storylines are all over the map. And dark. If you ask her costar, Emily Simpson, Shannon is a trooper. Emily, personally, would have chosen to cease filming.

Scheana Shay from Vanderpump Rules recently hosted Emily on her podcast. This friendship is not on my 2024 BINGO card. But I like it.
Once Emily and Scheana settled in, Scheana got this episode of her Scheananigans podcast rolling. She asked Emily who “the biggest Debbie Downer” was on her cast. Emily answered that all of them “at some point” fit this category. However, Shannon is having a rough go, so Emily will not lump Shannon into this category (for now).
Why is Shannon having a rough season? For starters, her ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, is now engaged to Alexis Bellino, who, after an 11-year absence, just returned to filming on RHOC. In addition, John is suing Shannon for $75K. He claims he loaned her these funds for a facelift, while Shannon states it was a gift.
Shannon also carries a pesky DUI charge from 2023, which saw Shannon wrecking her car following a heated row with John. Shortly after Shannon got arrested, the cameras picked up to start filming on RHOC Season 18.
Emily thinks that Shannon is a strong woman, and she fully understands why Shannon spent the bulk of this season in tears. Unlike Shannon, Emily “probably would have quit” filming, “Like ‘F you all. I’m going home. Not doing this crap,’” Emily quipped.
Hopefully, Shannon will return for another season. But I only want to see her back on RHOC if her mental health is in a solid place. She has made many mistakes, but her life is still important.
