Married to Medicine Season 11 is coming back soon and with a fresh face in the mix! New cast member Dr. Mirica “Mimi” Sanders joins the Atlanta friend group. Mimi’s casting was first announced a few months back. But now that we have our first look at the upcoming Season 11, M2M fans are hoping to get to know her a bit better. Thankfully, based on what we know so far, it seems like she’ll be a perfect fit with the cast. Read on below to learn more about the Married to Medicine newbie ahead of Season 11!

Married to Medicine newbie Dr. Mimi Sanders is a psychiatrist

In her Instagram bio, Mimi calls herself “your favorite psychiatrist.” According to her website, she coined the phrase. The 40-year-old is an accomplished, board-certified psychiatrist, specializing in women’s mental health. She received her doctorate from the Ohio University College of Medicine and was a resident at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Before that, she graduated from Tennessee University with a degree in chemistry.

Today, Dr. Mimi is the CEO of Inner Beauty, a women’s mental health clinic offering virtual therapy. Per the website, Mimi named her practice this because she focuses on “cosmetic psychiatry.” Her bio reads, “Just as women go to the salon and have wellness visits with their primary care doctor, Dr. Mimi believes the same emphasis needs to be placed on emotional well-being and the inner beauty.” She also specializes in stress management, as well as psychology focused on pregnancy, fertility, pregnancy loss, parenting, and menopause.

In 2019, Mimi wrote a book, titled Inner Beauty: Bringing True Beauty out of Every Woman. She also champions other women working in the healthcare field. Mimi is an instructor for professional development courses, designed to empower women and provide the necessary resources for their healthcare careers.

Who is Dr. Mimi’s husband Steve Sanders?

Mimi is married to Steve Sanders. Together for a decade, the Sanders have three kids, named Armier, Stevie, and Savannah. In addition to being her husband, Steve is also Mimi’s business partner. In 2020, they co-founded Inner Beauty, as well as Inner Community Health, and the Business of Psychiatry Consulting and Strategy.

Naturally, Steve will appear with Mimi on Married to Medicine Season 11. We’ll see if he makes a better impression on viewers than Dr. Alicia Egolum’s husband last season. We imagine Steve and Mimi will get a better reception, if only by default. Steve is one of several significant others we’ll meet this season. Quad Webb will also introduce the ladies to her new boyfriend. And the trailer shows that Phaedra Parks has a mystery man.

Previously, Steve was a pro athlete and played for the NFL. Like Mimi, Steve has roots in Cleveland, Ohio. After playing college ball for Bowling Green, the wide receiver signed to the Cleveland Browns in 2006. He went on to be a member of the Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals. Steve retired from professional football in 2012.

What can we expect from Dr. Mimi on Married to Medicine Season 11?

Married to Medicine fans got their first look at Season 11 with the recently released trailer. In addition to Mimi joining as a friend, Dr. Contessa Metcalfe returns full-time. Reportedly, Dr. Contessa is the one who introduces Mimi to the group.

Judging by the Bravo press release for the new season, it sounds like Mimi won’t be a wallflower. Viewers can expect that “Although new, Dr. Mimi will make sure her opinion is heard when getting to know this group.”

And according to the Bravo cast bios, viewers will see Mimi “working to grow her mental health practice nationally alongside her husband and pro football wide receiver Steve Sanders.” The bio continues, “As Dr. Mimi navigates her bustling practice and this new friend group, will her direct mannerisms rub the ladies the wrong way?” Certainly sounds like the psychiatrist will shake things up! We’ll have to see if she joins the ranks of Bravo’s very impressive recent roster of newbies.

Season 11 of Married to Medicine premieres Sunday, November 24 on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream next day on Peacock.
