It’s officially Hometowns Week for Joan Vassos on The Golden Bachelorette! On every Bachelor Nation season, the final four contestants typically receive a hometown date. While The Golden Bachelor only featured three hometowns, The Golden Bachelorette returned to the traditional four. Hometown dates are always an interesting watch, as it’s fun to see what the suitor’s family and friends think of their newfound relationship. Here’s everything that went down during The Golden Bachelorette Episode 6, just in case you missed it!
What happened in The Golden Bachelorette Episode 6?
This week on The Golden Bachelorette, Joan traveled across the country for four individual hometown dates. Joan chose the four men she had the strongest connections with for these dates, which was no light decision. The final four consisted of Chock, Jordan, Guy, and Pascal. Joan began her journey in Nevada to see Guy, then continued on to Chicago for Pascal and Jordan’s dates, and made a final stop in Kansas for Chock’s. At the end of the episode, one of the men was unfortunately eliminated during the rose ceremony.
Joan and Guy furthered their connection during his hometown
The first hometown date of the week was Guy, who was still one of Joan’s newer connections and a catch, no matter what Martha Stewart might think. For the activity portion of the date, Guy decided to take Joan on a scenic boat ride around Lake Tahoe. Guy and Joan had a great time and continued to learn more about one another. While Guy was happy, he expressed that he was worried about needing to guard his heart.
After meeting Guy’s family, her connection with him grew even further. Joan had a heart-to-heart with Guy’s two sisters, one of whom related to Joan about losing her husband. On the other hand, Guy’s daughter encouraged him to take a chance on love with Joan. Guy felt better after seeing how well his family got along with Joan and decided to open up to her even more. After leaving his family, Guy admitted to Joan that he was falling for her. Woohoo!
Joan saw a different side of Pascal in Chicago
Joan’s next hometown date was in the bustling city of Chicago with the mysterious Pascal. This date featured the most exciting activity in my opinion, as Pascal took Joan to his beloved salon. The hometown dates are usually an everyday activity but showing Joan the salon made sense for Pascal. Joan received VIP treatment and met many of Pascal’s co-workers. Pascal seems to be a front-runner for Joan, which could be due to him reminding her of her late husband John.
Later on in the day, Pascal took Joan to meet his children, grandson, and friends. Pascal’s family instantly took to Joan and his kids expressed that they hoped she would end up with him. Joan admitted to Pascal’s older daughter that she was nervous he may not choose her, however, she assured Joan that she didn’t think that would be the case. After the date, Joan confessed that her feelings for Pascal were even stronger than before. Despite Pascal still holding back a little, he and Joan seem to be heading in the right direction.
Joan was slightly confused after her date with Jordan
Conveniently, Jordan’s hometown was also in Chicago so Joan didn’t have to travel too far! Jordan took Joan out for some deep-dish pizza, which looked so good it made me hungry. To make things even better, the pair shared a slice of rainbow cake and walked around the city before meeting Jordan’s family. Joan acknowledged that Jordan was one of her slower-forming relationships but said that she was hopeful things could pick up between them.
Joan met Jordan’s two daughters and his brothers, who were elated to meet her. Jordan’s brothers told Joan about what a great father Jordan was, which she was happy to hear. However, while speaking with one of Jordan’s daughters, Joan learned just how reserved Jordan was. This made her nervous, as she was worried he may not be ready to be with her at the end of the process. Jordan confirmed this in a private conversation with his family, where he admitted he might not be ready to get engaged. Uh oh. We don’t want another Gerry Turner situation…
An emotional hometown date for Chock
The final hometown date of the week was in Wichita, Kansas for Chock. Since the beginning, Chock has been a frontrunner for Joan. Chock surprised her with a big group of people to meet, including his son and daughter, his father, and the father of his late partner Kathy. The activity for this date felt extra special, as the group planted a tree for Chock’s late mother who had passed a few weeks after filming began. Joan felt honored to be included and admitted that she felt like part of the family.
Joan had an emotional conversation with Kathy’s father, who told her that he hadn’t seen Chock so happy with someone since his daughter passed. Chock had another deep conversation with his father, who told him that he saw love between him and Joan. Despite being nervous, Chock decided to completely open up to Joan and expressed that he was falling for her. Joan was thrilled to hear it and assured him that everything between them was very real for her. Could these two be endgame? And they didn’t even need the Fantasy Suite beds to get there!
Who was eliminated after hometowns?
To the surprise of almost no one, Jordan was ultimately sent home. This was an easy one to see coming, given how unsure Joan was during their date. When she walked him out, Joan told Jordan that time wasn’t on their side. Jordan took the break-up well, which was refreshing to see. This leaves Chock, Guy, and Pascal as Joan’s final three!
The Golden Bachelorette continues Wednesdays at 8/7 c on ABC.
