Lisa Barlow has always been stellar on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with her retorts, business ventures, and love of everything fast food. However, Season 5 shows Lisa in a strange light, which I have a problem reconciling with. The Vida Tequila owner has found herself at the center of Whitney Rose’s jewelry line rumors, and it isn’t a good look for the Sundance Queen.
Lisa Barlow has drawn a line in the sand
I mean, who throws away free jewelry? Lisa is making her feelings known regarding Whitney’s Prism collection. The validity of Whit’s jewelry line is still a hot topic of discussion amongst the women. After vacating the hotel, Whitney was informed that one housewife had thrown her jewelry in the garbage. The former Mormon took to her confessional to note, “It was Lisa Barlow’s. Here’s the thing: I was going hard for Meredith that night; why are you going for my business?” It was at this moment that Heather Gay informed her cousin that it wasn’t Mer who started the rumors about Prisim being resold by the e-commerce company Alibaba. It was Lisa.
The Bad Mormon explained, “Lisa told Meredith, Meredith told me, I told you. But it’s more than the business stuff. It feels like you’re taking it really personally.” For Whitney, the entire scenario was personal. She explained, “This is my business, my brand. It’s not just something that popped up.” After getting the call from the hotel manager, Whitney started to think that Lisa was being “vindictive.” Whitney believes that Lisa “must still be mad at me about that podcast because why else would she toss the necklace I gifted her into the trash?”

If the rumors are accurate and Lisa did play a part, the move is totally uncool. During Episode 1, Lisa shared that Whitney “was rude about me, like, ‘Lisa’s the new villain.'” And in Utah, those are fighting words. But Lisa has shaded Whit before, and as fans learned, she texted the blonde, saying, “Keep healing, Whit.” Is it possible that Lisa is going through all this trouble for a little payback? The short answer would be yes. But for the last five years, we’ve watched Lisa be unphased with a lot of drama, so why stay hung up on this?
It hasn’t gone unnoticed that Whitney comes for Lisa every season. However, Lisa may have just hit her limit. LB told E! “She hasn’t really evolved with the show. She’s still doing Season 1 things. Making false accusations.” I did expect more from Lisa, mainly because she has always carried herself with such integrity. I love tuning in to see Lisa stay true to herself and shut other’s insults against her down. Could this rumor be a ploy to teach Ms. Wild Rose a lesson? I could understand her desire to seek revenge if Lisa was at her tolerance limit.
Technically, Lisa Barlow has bigger issues to concentrate on
Personally, I was pretty shocked to hear that Lisa was the root of the issues. Lisa does seem to have a history with shade. It wasn’t nice of her to insinuate in Season 1 that Heather was the good-time girl at college. And she has made snippy comments before. But really, who hasn’t made snippy comments in their life? Lisa also tends to act too cool for the rest of the women, which irked a few of her co-stars. But I, too, have receipts as I think back to when producers showed a text between Heather and Lisa, where Lisa noted she was excited to meet the Beauty Lab owner in person. This would indicate she did not have any recollection of meeting Heather.
However, throughout Season 1, fans were led to believe that Lisa was acting shady. Now, Lisa is capable of being shady. I mean, we all remember her infamous hot mic moment. But I can’t kick the feeling that she might be the scapegoat for everyone’s drama. I couldn’t help but think that Lisa has been unfairly set up to play the villain since Season 1 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Only time will tell if Lisa was the mastermind behind the Prism rumors. I just hope we find out the reason why.
