It’s a sad day for Naked and Afraid fans. Sarah Danser, who competed on the series several times, has passed away at 34. The survivalist and master diver was involved in a car accident in Honolulu, Hawaii, and now fans, friends, and family members are paying tribute to her legacy.
Rest in peace, Sarah Danser
Even if you don’t regularly watch Naked and Afraid, chances are you’ve seen Sarah. The two-time breast cancer survivor stripped down and faced the wilderness in five different seasons, including an all-star edition and Naked and Afraid XL. In case that wasn’t enough adventure, she also competed on the CW show Fight to Survive.
According to a report from Page Six, Sarah has called Hawaii home for the last twelve years and lived part-time on a boat. Earlier this week, she was riding in the passenger seat of a car when the driver lost control. They crashed into a parked car.
The cops who responded to the scene confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash. Instead, they blamed the crash on speed.
Following the accident, Sarah and the driver were both hospitalized. She died from her injuries later that day. The driver remained in serious condition, along with one of the people from the parked car.
The outlet confirmed that before Sarah passed away, her brother and father had a chance to visit her in the hospital. In an interview, they reflected on the legacy she’s leaving behind and all of the lives she touched.
“Magical is the way to describe her. Sarah had this positive energy about her that just really filled the environment that she was in,” her brother Jake shared.
