It was a big weekend for reality TV fans in the UK. Hayu held their first-ever Hayu FanFest, which brought a bevy of Bravolebrities across the pond for a day dedicated to reality TV. During the event, the streamer announced a brand-new series: The Real Housewives of London. Naturally, we’ve got all of the tea on what you need to know about the upcoming franchise.
Real Housewives of London premieres in 2025
If you’re in the United States, you’ve probably never thought about Hayu, but it’s a streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, and they distribute a bunch of Bravo reality shows to countries around the world. Up until now, they’ve licensed shows from other networks. The Real Housewives of London marks the first original program from Hayu.
According to a report from Variety, the producers of Made in Chelsea are behind the latest international Real Housewives franchise. They’re well into the casting process, and they expect production to kick off early in 2025.
Hendrik McDermott, one of the bigwigs at Hayu, called the announcement of Real Housewives of London a “key milestone” in the “growth story” of Hayu. They’re fully committed to becoming an international destination for reality TV, and we are a hundred percent here for it.
“It makes sense that such an iconic location in the U.K. – a core Hayu market – would feature into our strategy to further amplify our offering with original content that super-serves loyal fans,” Hendrick explained.
He continued, “We look forward to being the exclusive home of this latest installment in the wildly popular The Real Housewives franchise.”
Not only is this announcement a milestone for Hayu, but it’s also a milestone for the overall Real Housewives franchise. This marks the 30th international iteration of Housewives. Who would have thought that The Real Housewives of Orange County could spawn such an international phenomenon?
The Real Housewives of London is expected to premiere in late 2025 on Hayu.
