Best Real Housewives Halloween Costumes Through the Years

There is only one time a year when it is totally okay to dress a little sexy because it is all in the name of Halloween. No other women take their costume responsibility more seriously than the Real Housewives franchise. So, as another All Hallows Eve approaches, I thought it would be fun to pick my all-time favorite costumes!

Lisa Rinna struts her stuff as Erika Jayne

Lisa Rinna stole the show at Kyle Richards’ Halloween bash, where she introduced herself as Rinna Jayne. Who knew we needed not one but two Pretty Messes in our lives? Lisa was stunned as she walked the red carpet as Erika Jayne. The soap opera actress wore knee-high leather boots, most likely from the singer’s Shoedazzle collaboration. The actress added a red sports dress, platinum blonde wig, and blue eye contacts to top off the Coachella-themed look. Fans always knew Lisa had a flair for dramatics, but who knows how long she had been scheming and plotting to pull together this look?

Naturally, Erika appreciated the effort yelling, “B*tch, you dressed like me!” And everyone knows imitation is the biggest form of flattery. However, not everyone felt the same, and Lisa’s colorful use of language got her into a bit of trouble. According to Rinna, the costume and Erika is a “girl’s dream. She is sexual and over the top.” It seems “Pat the Puss” was never going to catch on.

Cynthia Bailey channels her inner 50 Cent

During Season 10, the Halloween episode Nightmare on Peachtree Street surprised viewers. Bravo fans were shocked to see Cynthia Bailey go the extra mile for her costume. The model channeled her best rap stance as she showed up as 50 Cent’s protege, 50 Cynt. At first, it looked like Gregg Leakes and NeNe Leakes were going to steal the show when they showed up dressed as a roach and exterminator.

The party, hosted by Eva Marcille, had a noticeable lack of drama, but the ladies brought their ATL A-Game. While mostly all the other women dressed sexy, Cynthia embraced her masculine energy and entered the room with swagger. The mother of one wore facial hair, Timberlands, and thick gold chains to complete the look. Everyone in the cast and fans couldn’t help but praise Cynthia’s creativity. If there was a prize for the best costume, Cynthia would have won hands down. I think it is safe to say that 50 Cent himself would have been very impressed.

Teresa Giudice is the sweetest Real Housewives star

When thinking of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, OG fans wouldn’t necessarily think she is the sweetest person, thanks to her outbursts. But Teresa Giudice proved to fans she can be delectably pleasant when she wants to be. In a costume that was sure to give anyone a cavity, Tre showed up as a cotton candy swirl. In 2020 Teresa went all out, posting on her Instagram, “I’m the sweetest BITCH you’ll ever meet tis the season … Are you a trick or a treat?!”

The RHONJ star rocked the look in a pink, bright blue, side-swept wig with teased curls. Her makeup was perfection, boasting sparkling eyes and rose gold blush. Perhaps my favorite accent was the glitter slathered all over her exposed shoulders. This Halloween costume was a winning look for Tre, and I bet people were trying to gobble her up all night. At one point, Teresa even coyly captioned a photo, writing, “I’m just here for the Cotton Candy.”

Bethenny Frankel as Big Apple Barbie

I’ll die on this hill, but I loved Bethenny Frankel on Real Housewives of New York. During Season 10, Bethenny waltzed into the party like she owned the place. She was years ahead of the Barbie Movie movement, but that was Bethenny; she was always one step ahead. As she hugged Lucille Ball, aka Jill Zarin, Bethenny wowed in a pink leather dress complete with pink sunnies and a Dolly Parton-size blonde wig.

“My costume has gone awry. I wanted to be Barbie, but then two drag queens came over to do my glam and wig. So I became drag Barbie/ Texas prostitute. I’m shocked my tit hasn’t popped out yet.” Even though she might have been critical of her look, her fellow RHONY co-stars loved what they saw. But in all honesty, it wasn’t hard to surpass Luann de Lesseps, who was accused of wearing blackface due to an exorbitant amount of self-tanner. Even Bethenny couldn’t help but poke fun at the singer’s Diana Ross costume, noting, “She gives zero f*cks.”
