Mia Thornton Celebrates Living ‘Out Loud’ and ‘Authentically’ With Boyfriend Inc

Mia Thornton may have ended Season 8 of Real Housewives of Potomac on a dramatic note, but she seems to be doing much better now. She’s back for Season 9 and navigating a new life, including her divorce from Gordon Thornton and living out loud and authentically with her boyfriend Incognito (or Inc).

She admits that there was some drama with the overlap between Gordon and Inc around the time she got pregnant with Jeremiah. Though her son has been raised as Gordon’s son, Mia reveals that Inc wanted a paternity test just to be sure. And she won’t deny him that.

Mia Thornton is focusing on being happy and living truthfully

It’s been quite the year for Mia, but she’s finding a way to live happily with Inc and co-exist and co-parent peacefully with Gordon.

The former couple announced their breakup over a year ago. But time really does heal all wounds (or at least make them less painful) and the three have found a way to co-exist in the same space.

Mia told Decider that things are “going well” in her new family dynamic. She confirmed Gordon still lives in the same building as her to make it easier for their children. But he no longer has access to her floor. This allows her to set healthy boundaries and keep interaction between Gordon and Inc at a minimum.

“Gordon living there is good for the kids Because they don’t have to spend a week at Mom’s and then another at Dad’s. They can go to Mom’s place and Dad’s place on the same day,” Mia explained. “We can co-parent them effectively. And they are happy.”

Mia’s happy too. She enjoys being freer in her relationship and allowing herself to “live out loud” and be “authentically who I am.”

“That’s the beauty about life and the gift we have,” Mia said. “We have the freedom to love what we love. And I think it’s beautiful that he’s also committed to being transparent with everyone as I am. That’s hard to come by. But I do feel it comes with adversity and scrutiny. I’m okay with it because I’m happy and that’s all that matters.”

She added, “I love to tell my story and I love to be authentically Mia. I’m not going to change that about me. I’m moving into the next chapter of life, the big 4-0, and no longer hiding behind anybody else’s shadows. This is my life and it is what it is.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays on Bravo at 8 p.m. ET.
