Season 5 Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie Bronwyn Newport is an interesting character. She isn’t shy about giving her opinion to anyone. And she has a unique and eclectic fashion sense. So, what do I love most about her? Her hobby is picking up her husband at the airport dressed in costume. Keep that spark alive, Bronwyn! However, her friendship with Lisa Barlow is starting to wither and die. And Bronwyn is sharing one of the reasons why.
Why did Lisa Barlow ghost Bronwyn Newport?
As you may recall, Bronwyn invited Heather Gay to her house to see if they could get along. If they could, then Heather scored an invite to Bronwyn and Todd Bradley’s anniversary trip to Palm Springs. Instead, Heather and Bronwyn butted heads, and Heather left.
Of course, Heather told her side of the story to Lisa and Meredith Marks. Both Meredith and Lisa were sad that Heather wasn’t invited. During The RHOSLC: Aftershow, Bronwyn explained what happened before the group left on the trip. “I call Lisa before Palm Springs, and I really said, ‘Are you gonna be OK with you coming? Are John [Barlow] and Justin [Rose] going to be fine?’ I really gassed Lisa up, and then there was like a weird ghost-y moment of she wouldn’t respond to texts or calls,” Bronwyn explained. “And I did not know if she was coming.”
However, Whitney Rose was familiar with this tactic. “First sign of war is Lisa ghosts you,” Whitney said. Then once the group was together, Bronwyn was sick of hearing Heather’s name.
Bronwyn said, “[Lisa] and Meredith sit on the plane and they tell me over and over that I’m misunderstanding Heather and that they feel sorry that she’s not here, and all these things. I’m like, ‘Okay? There’s no other venue you guys could talk about this in other than to me?'” She added, “Like, I don’t want Heather here – and for good reason.”
Finally, Bronwyn addressed how she felt when Lisa decided to call Heather from the pool. “I knew where Lisa’s alliance was and where her loyalty was,” Bronwyn stated, “but I was very shocked and very angry that she FaceTimed Heather. That didn’t feel like supporting Heather or feeling sorry for my friend that’s not on this trip. That felt like antagonizing me, just to make me mad. And it did!” she added. Then mission accomplished, Lisa!
Lisa Barlow knows who the villain of RHOSLC Season 5 is …
Basically, Bronwyn felt that Lisa never asked her for her side of what happened with Heather. “She not only heard Heather’s side but continued to parrot it for everybody else to hear,” Bronwyn said. “And that was malicious to call Heather.”
Well, Lisa and John’s trip may be cut short, because Todd told John to get Lisa under control or leave. That may be just fine with Lisa. When asked to name the “villain” of Season 5, Lisa previously stated, “I think Bronwyn might be a little villainous.”
This season is delivering with all the shifting friendships.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
