It must be exhausting always having to clarify whether or not your husband is cheating. Don’t get me wrong. I love Kyle Cooke and his wife, Amanda Batula, but he certainly has put her through the wringer over the years.
Once again the Summer House stars are addressing rumors about their marriage.
While attending castmate Lindsay Hubbard’s baby shower in October, Kyle and Amanda told a reporter they’re often fending off reports that they broke up. But Amanda confirmed that she and Kyle are still together and going strong.
Amanda Batula is still affected by Kyle Cooke’s past infidelity
“It’s the same old schtick with us,” Amanda told Entertainment Tonight. “Nothing’s new. I feel like everyone would know if something truly was going on. I don’t think we’ve ever been able to keep anything a secret.”
She also admitted that she sometimes forgets to wear her wedding ring. “The main thing is that I am normally seen without my wedding ring,” she said. “I forgot to put it on again today. It’s not intentional. I just forget. But it means nothing. I promise you … Everyone knows I’m married.”
As fans of the show know, Kyle admitted to cheating on his wife when they were still dating. During Summer House Season 4, which aired in March 2019, Kyle confessed to stepping out on his then-girlfriend. Sadly, Amanda’s still affected by his past infidelity, especially since fans so often remind her of it.
“People think that I can’t let go of the cheating thing,” the Lover Boy co-creator said. “But I get comments and DMs at least once a week reminding me that Kyle cheated on me. So it’s like, how can I let that go if no one else is able to let it go either?”
She’s also well aware that some fans don’t approve of her and Kyle’s relationship. “Everyone rooting against us, making bets on when we’ll get divorced, how long we’ll be together … how he deserves better or I deserve better. Seeing that all the time makes you question your relationship,” she added.
Are Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula ready to start a family?
During their ET interview in October 2024, Kyle and Amanda, married since 2021, admitted they’re not quite ready to become parents just yet.
“We’re booked and busy,” Amanda said. “No plans for kids yet. We know we want them eventually, but I feel like we have so much going on right now.”
Even though they’re not ready, they are very excited for Lindsay’s daughter to arrive. Lindsay was pregnant during Season 9 of Summer House, so the entire cast “felt protective” of her. Kyle added that he was proud of how well Lindsay and her former fiancé, Carl Radke, got along with each other, less than a year past their explosive breakup.
“I have to give both Carl and Lindsay props and respect because they handled it really well,” said Cooke.
