Bravo really tried to do something different with the new era of Real Housewives of New York. They went back to the drawing board with a new cast of fresh faces. To give them the benefit of the doubt, their first season wasn’t bad. But as is evident with RHONY Season 15, not all experiments end up with positive results. The latest batch of apple holders just aren’t giving like the good old days.
The latest RHONY episode felt like a final straw for many fans of the show. The group feels disconnected and over-produced, so connecting with the drama is hard. Rebecca Minkoff, who has been relatively flopping throughout her first season on reality TV, exemplified this problem with her latest “prank.” She and Erin Lichy tried to convince their co-stars that Rebecca was secretly pregnant by another man who wasn’t her husband. The “joke” fell flatter than flat, and even Andy Cohen is chiming in about it.
Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis aren’t fans of pranks
On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy was joined by Jeff Lewis and RHONY star Sai De Silva to talk about the new season of RHONY. Obviously, they had to unpack the failed prank heard around the Bravoverse. “I’m not a fan of a prank, I’ve got to be honest,” Andy said bluntly.
While Andy kept it cute, Jeff took the opportunity to go in on Rebecca’s bad decision. “It’s a bad move. I think it’s self-producing,” Jeff said. “I think that you lose trust in your audience.” He concluded by standing his ground that he isn’t a fan of pranks at all. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
