Jax Taylor can’t help but get himself into trouble. He’s been doing it since the dawn of Vanderpump Rules and continues to do so on The Valley these days. And ever since the news of his divorce from Brittany Cartwright broke, Jax has continued to fuel the mess.
Jax and Brittany’s divorce might have been a long time coming for some fans. However, none of us could’ve predicted how tumultuous it would be. Rumors have been swirling left and right, some of them even started by Jax himself. Now, he’s attempting to set the record straight by continuing to delve into more personal details about his divorce. Buckle up for this mess.
Jax Taylor claims he was the first to mention the D word
Jax recently appeared on Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast with Alex Baskin, who asked him about what happened when Brittany filed for divorce. Jax jumped at the bit to clarify that he was the one who initiated the split. “So what people don’t know is the second week in the rehab, I emailed Brittany and said, I’m getting a mediator. People don’t realize that I’m the one that initiated this,” Jax said. Oh boy.
He explained the back and forth with Brittany while he was in rehab, claiming he wanted to avoid bringing lawyers into the mix by splitting via a mediator. Ultimately, Brittany was the one who filed the divorce papers in court. “Was I shocked? No. But I just want to make it very clear because it looks like she’s the one that did this first,” Jax added. “I was the one that got this going, and I think she wanted to be the first one to serve me papers publicly because I haven’t talked about that.”
Regardless of who initiated the divorce, Jax does realize that he and Brittany needed to call it quits. “I think she really, really wanted me to work on the marriage,” he added. “I just was so checked out by that time, I was just really checked out. There’s just– I just couldn’t come back anymore.” And the mess continues.
