Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos Not Moving in With Winner Chock Chapple

Here we go again. Our Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos found love this season and chose Chock Chapple as the winner of her heart. However, they’re already talking about how they don’t plan on living together. This all sounds eerily familiar to how the Golden Bachelor’s marriage quickly fell apart. Does this mean that Joan and Chock could be dead on arrival, too? Maybe not.

During the Golden Bachelorette finale, Chock popped the question to Joan, which means they should be living happily ever after. Yet, in an interview with People, they explained that the two of them have no immediate plans to live together.

On the show, Joan made it clear that she didn’t want to move away from her home in Maryland. Meanwhile, Chock calls Kansas his home. Although it sounds like a logistical nightmare, Chock explained how they plan on making it work.

“We’re going to be going back and forth between Kansas to Maryland and to New York,” the 60-year-old insurance exec explained. “We’ll have a full-time place in New York and whenever we get the opportunity, we’re going to be there. We’re going to get it figured out this next year.”

Unlike the failed Golden Bachelor couple, Joan and Chock seem willing to make their long-distance relationship work, even if it isn’t a conventional marriage. They already have plans to scout out apartments in the Big Apple next week.

The couple also have a Christmas trip to New York City on the books. According to Joan, visiting the city has become a Christmas tradition for her. Even if they don’t find an apartment in time for this year’s holiday, she said they plan on making memories together during their first holiday season together.

“If nothing else, we’ll certainly get a hotel or do an Airbnb,” Joan explained of their upcoming holiday trip. “But I love that tradition. I love Christmas in the city.”

On top of their New York City plans, the couple also have a trip to Disney World coming up. Jesse Palmer gifted the trip to them during the Golden Bachelorette finale, and they plan on uniting their kids and grandchildren for a magical trip.

“That’s the gift of a lifetime,” Joan said of the Disney World trip.
