Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 7. Last week, Wendy celebrated her birthday in style and was one of the few who remained unscathed from the trip. Meanwhile, Karen denied needing to go to rehab but dropped the bomb that Mia had gone. Stacey got messy and diverted attention from her relationship onto Jassi’s. And Jassi couldn’t get her story straight on when she and Darius started dating. The group then waved adieu to Lake Norman and headed back to Potomac, with more drama to come. Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 7: “Hard Launch, Soft Landing.”

Karen was counting down the days until her court case. She was stressed but remained hopeful. Ashley finally felt like her life was moving in a good direction, and she wanted the same for her mother. Wendy celebrated her children’s graduations but worried Eddie’s family might not show up to her party. Jassi held a party to celebrate her boyfriend Darius, and all the women finally got to meet each other’s partners. Stacey’s boyfriend TJ got the biggest reaction, yet his behavior surprised no one. And finally, Mia and Karen came to a truce, but can it last?

Abstinence does not make the heart grow fonder

Stacey had TJ over at her “crash pad.” She shared this was “my new space away from the complications of my divorce.” And to celebrate, they were going to have a friendly competition of painting portraits of one another. TJ assumed there would be wine for a date activity but then reminded her he didn’t drink. Stacey said, “You don’t drink, you don’t smoke, you don’t …” TJ piped in, “Sleep with you.”

In her confessional, Stacey said they have been celibate for over a year, and it’s been challenging. She then told TJ the girls thought he was running game on her. TJ said they aren’t making fun of us; they’re “making fun of God.” But Stacey wasn’t a believer.

Ashley had Gizelle and Karen over for scones and popcorn. Karen admitted she was scared of her upcoming court date but hopeful. She also brought up her disappointment in Mia and Jacqueline, saying she needed rehab. Karen told Gizelle and Ashley they can look up Mia’s video online where she talks about opioid addiction.

She said, “Of course you strike at me; I’m going to strike at you, and I will finish it.” With a Mortal Kombat flawless victory no less. Karen then pivoted over to Gizelle and wondered how she felt about Jamal getting engaged. Gizelle was unbothered. She was living her best life and loving it.

Wendy had another celebration on her hands. This time it was for her kids graduating to the next grade. She was emotional seeing them grow up before her eyes. Of course, the kids just wanted to eat their escargot and pizza. Still, there was another party to be had, and this time Eddie’s family might come.

Wendy’s mom, Susan, wasn’t their biggest fan, and with good reason. In her confessional, Wendy shared Eddie’s family hasn’t been a part of their lives for the past decade. Wendy noted, “My biggest concern is whether Eddie’s parents come and whether they will come in peace.”

Ashley had her mom Sheila over to see the kids. She was worried because her mom had heart disease and she wanted her to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Ashley was determined to do it with her, even if that meant drinking a concoction of olive oil and lemon that made you run to the bathroom. She told her mom she was going to a mediator soon, which meant she could be signing divorce papers in a month.

This was a big milestone for Ashley. She also wasn’t scared to be a single mom anymore. Ashley was now confident in herself and as a mother. And she wanted her mom to feel that way too. But her mom wasn’t there just yet.

Jassi put together a stunning party to honor her boyfriend Darius going to the White House for winning the Super Bowl. It was also an excuse for everyone to meet each other’s partners. The short shaming began as soon as Mia’s man, Inc walked in the room. Gizelle confirmed Karen was indeed right to call him “DJ Apple Box.” Mia explained he always wore shades because he’s “Incognito.” Everyone let out a big, “Ohhhhh.” Keiarna then arrived with Greg. In her confessional, Jassi said that Greg “was shorter than I would have imagined.” Oop.

Keiarna confronted Mia about calling Greg a drug dealer. Mia explained she didn’t mean Greg; she meant someone else. Mia said about Greg, “He’s very much a social worker, we can tell.” The real judgment came when Stacey and TJ arrived. Wendy said in her confessional, “The moment I met TJ, I knew immediately that man is not sexually active.” Eddie confirmed great relationships start as friendships. TJ agreed then said, “After that it’s just physical, and after that it’s like I’m bored.” Ashley shouted in her confessional, “Mayday! Mayday!”

After Jassi gave a speech about Darius’ accomplishments, it was time for Karen and Mia to face off over the rehab accusations. Mia wanted to clear the air that she did not go to rehab but rather the hospital for overdosing. In her confessional, Mia explained she was addicted to pain pills after having a C-section. Mia said she loved Karen and wasn’t coming for her. Karen exclaimed, “Well, your love is strange, girl!” Still, they both agreed to start at ground zero. But Karen gave a stern warning she would go low again if need be.

Karen met up with her cousin David to discuss her accident over Caesar salads and halibut. David had been on the phone with Karen the night it happened. The two teared up, and Karen apologized for him having to hear it go down. Karen admitted she had been internalizing stress. Her parents deaths, selling their house, and tax issues had all finally come to a head. The producer asked, “Why do you say that those feelings came to a head?” Karen shared, “I can’t say a lot. I think I said too much already to be honest, and when I can fill in the dots, I will.”

Mia wanted to have a conversation with Gordon about telling the kids she and Inc were an item. But Gordon avoided it at all costs. He said, “I don’t want to do one single thing to help promote you all’s relationship.” He then stormed off, leaving the two in shock.

In her confessional, Mia admitted, “Co-parenting to me is top priority. But we’re getting a divorce. And sometimes when there’s no boundaries, it can get a little uncomfortable.” After Gordon left, Mia said she wasn’t going to be influenced by him any longer. She stated, “I deserve happiness; I’m done.”

Real Housewives of Potomac continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
