Sister Wives offspring Mykelti Brown Padron is hinting that OG wife Meri Brown physically and verbally assaulted her dad, Kody Brown, during their marriage.
“There was a YouTuber who made a video wondering if Meri was abusive, either mentally or physically or both, to your dad, and that’s why he treated her the way he did,” Mykelti said in a recent Q&A video on November 22.
“I’m not saying anything,” Mykelti responded, touching her finger to her nose (i.e. “right on the nose”). “Anything I say in response to that, I could probably get in trouble with. So … if you’re thinking it, and other people are thinking it too, you guys are probably not far off. And that’s all I’m gonna say … I just don’t want to deal with being called and getting in trouble. So that’s all I’m gonna say.”
Mykelti Brown has blocked her memories of the alleged abuse
This isn’t the first time Mykelti has suggested that Meri was abusive toward Kody, as well as his 18 children with his four wives: Meri, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Robyn Brown.
“I’m speaking on my own personal experiences and opinion on Meri Brown,” the mom of three said in a Patreon clip in January 2023. “I don’t want to discount my siblings’ experiences with her. I don’t remember Meri ever being physically abusive to me. [But] she was very emotionally and verbally abusive to all of us when we were younger.”
Once the kids “got old enough” to be “able to fight back,” the alleged mistreatment stopped.
Even though she doesn’t remember it, “I honestly think I got the brunt of it,” Mykelti told InTouch. “My siblings have told me multiple times that they think I did receive the worst that she gave. However, I think we were all affected by her.”
Mykelti has said that Meri will never “be part of my life nor my husband’s or my kids’ lives because of the trauma I experienced as a child growing up.” She and her husband, Tony Padron, share a nearly three-year-old daughter, Avalon, and two-year-old twins, Archer and Ace.
Paedon backs up his sister’s claims of alleged abuse
“I don’t think [Meri is] a terrible person, but I don’t think she’s necessarily a nice person,” Mykelti added. She did, however, wish Meri “the best.”
Mykelti spoke up after Christine and Kody’s son, Paedon Brown, alleged that Meri’s abuse “moved so far past verbal, verbal basically stopped existing.”
Christine and Kody’s daughter, Gwendlyn Brown, also claimed in a January 2023 Patreon video, “[Meri] was scary as a kid, but she never attacked me, and I only saw her violent once. That was all a long time ago.”
Meri has never addressed the allegations that she abused the Brown children. She and Kody announced their separation in January 2023, following over 30 years together.
