For 11 seasons, the cast of Vanderpump Rules did their worst, bringing us some of the greatest reality television moments in history. They fought, dated each other exes, and then they grew up (mostly). Sadly, they are riding off into the sunset now. Soon, a new cast will take over.
When Season 11 ended with a fractured cast and failed plot lines, rumors about the future of VPR started swirling. The network then called for an extended break before jumping back into filming, hoping that time could heal certain divisions within this cast.
Nevertheless, this cast remained disjointed. Therefore, production had no choice but to call it a day. They saw zero paths forward for another season with this crew.
Let all other rumors die, as an insider just revealed that cast divisions solely caused the reboot of VPR
Due to the Scandoval nightmare in Season 10, we can no longer have nice things. Yes, this cast was a mess long before Tom Sandoval decided to pull out his penis flute for another female. But this one issue saw the cast getting pulled in every direction, and where some landed stunk.
I would say justice for Ariana Madix. But she doesn’t need it. She is thriving, and her future remains bright. Some of her haters, however, will need to grab other jobs, as bills in LA are expensive AF.
A source close to PEOPLE revealed that James Kennedy, Lala Kent, Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, Ariana, and Sandoval learned about the reboot one day ahead of us. According to this insider, they feel bummed out, yet relieved to “finally have an answer.”
As for the reboot reasonings, this insider noted that “there were so many fractions” among this cast following the Season 11 reunion. Therefore, Bravo decided to move on.
“There had been a long pause in production, and nothing had changed among the cast since the reunion,” this source explained, adding, “Everyone was still stuck in their feelings and refusing to bend. The network felt there was no path[s] forward with the group in that capacity.”
Likewise, “the group ties to SUR and Lisa [Vanderpump] were practically non-existent,” the source stressed. So, “It just didn’t make sense to continue.”
Cue a reboot with young SUR’vers, which this insider teases will “feel like a return to form.”
We’ll be the judge of that. We have to. It’s our job. Until then, fare thee well, faithful original fighters on VPR.
Vanderpump Rules is currently streaming on Peacock.
