What goes on in between seasons can pique interest in an upcoming reality TV show series. In terms of Southern Charm, viewers knew Season 10 was going to be filled with drama after JT Thomas abruptly quit the show via a social media post. He refrained from filming any further confessionals or post-production activity. And his former co-star, and former friend, Venita Apsen is at least hoping he will come to the reunion.
JT wasn’t a major player, but he brought enough drama last season by taking on Austen Kroll. The Season 10 trailer showed him getting close with Venita, who even seemed to be advising him at times on how to navigate the group. Now, the influencer is advising that JT explain his side of the story at the reunion.

Venita gave an exclusive interview with Decider to` tease the new season. She also shared some insight into her friendship with JT, and what she thought about his announcement.
“Man, I would say, I guess just the loyal … I don’t know how to answer that, really,” Venita said of how she became close with the former Southern Charm star. “I think I’ve said this a few times before now: the first time that JT and I really got close was after a Watch What Happens Live episode that we filmed around this time last year. His mom was there and all my best friends were there, my team was there. And it just felt really good. I was like, ‘Okay, I can trust this kid.'”

Ultimately, it was a trusting friendship. And Venita felt that JT wasn’t going “to come for” her or do her “dirty.” There was some family involvement as well, with the Southern Charm beauty even having dinner with JT’s mom.
“And then we just kind of started to build the relationship from there, which blossomed into us being best friends. I think there were a few times that I was doing dinner with his mom. There were a few times that we would just hang out, just have a good time. We were talking almost every day. But yeah, sorry to speak in the past tense, but that was my best friend,” she explained.
As for the apparent chemistry between them, as seen in the Season 10 trailer, Venita described it as “two best friends trying to see if taking it one step further was going to work.” The duo “took it one day at a time” and agreed not to “do too much.” Venita teased the viewers would have to watch the season to get more answers.
Venita would have the most insight into JT’s decision to leave. But she revealed that the duo “haven’t spoken” about it.
“I really hope that he makes a decision to show up to the reunion to kind of clear the air because right now it’s everyone against JT due to the decisions that he chose to make on his own,” she concluded.
