The more details that come out about the night of James Kennedy’s domestic violence arrest, the more questions we have. We know he went to Kathy Hilton’s DirecTV Christmas party in the hours before the arrest, and according to Nick Viall, he saw him “barking orders” at some friend of his.
Nick attended the Christmas party alongside his wife, Natalie Joy. During an episode of The Viall Files, he explained how he saw James mistreating a friend of his just hours before the arrest. We’re over here trying to put these pieces together, but nothing is adding up.
What happened at Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party?
A previous report about Kathy’s party suggested that the Vanderpump Rules alum was “in a mood” from the moment he arrived. Supposedly, he skipped the red carpet but was later seen dancing with his girlfriend Ally Lewber. Meanwhile, Nick explained how he saw another side of things.
According to Nick, James brought a guest to the party who he introduced as “his best friend.” However, it sounds like he was treating his “best friend” like a servant when he thought no one was looking.
“I’m the only one who saw this. Natalie didn’t even see this. Natalie was immersed in a conversation with the other person we were talking to,” Nick recalled.
“James walks by, and then James turns around and he says to his friend — I forgot his friend’s name. Let’s say his friend’s name is Sam. And [James] goes, ‘Sam! Hold this! Now.’ … And his friend just grabbed the drink and James kept walking and I was like … That was insane.”
According to Nick, this happened just moments after James introduced them to his “best friend.” Surely, it’s no coincidence that People reported James seeming “inebriated” at the party. A separate source said they saw a guy chasing James through Kathy’s house.
“His guy friend was chasing him from Kathy’s basement all the way throughout Kathy’s backyard, and James looked mad while running away,” a source from the party revealed.
A few hours later, James wound up in jail for domestic violence against an unnamed woman. He paid $20,000 to get out and hasn’t commented further. However, his attorney reminded everyone following the story that there were no injuries involved in this incident.
